Things to see: the game on TV.
Things to avoid: Kansas State.

Seriously, the one time I went their fans were unbearable. It's amazing how much they think of themselves when they suck. One dude wearing a purple Natty Light shirt (epic fail) wouldn't stop giving us crap the whole game in 2006. He was doing it when we were ahead, too. Gundy jokes and Brokeback Mountain jokes all game long. But it was nothing compared to how they got when Josh Freeman started killing us and lead them back.

In the parking lot, it was seriously like the walk of shame. They lined up to heckle us.

Bear in mind during all of this, I was part of the 50 person pep band that OSU sent to Manhattan, so we naturally attracted some animosity for being in uniform (the band gets more abuse than the average fan does, I'd almost guarantee). But still, they'll call you every horrible name in the book. I can't speak to Aggieville, which what I'm sure others who have been as regular fans will tell you to see. But I can't imagine I'd want to be an opposing fan there whether we won or not.

However, there is quite a bit of love for K-State/Aggieville in the thread.

band guy:  :blah: :blah:

3/4 of other people: Manhattan and Aggieville are actually pretty sweet

1/4 of other people: We're going to try and make people think that anything in the state of Oklahoma is better than Kansas, let a lone Shangri La (Manhattan)....

Think of every bad Kansas stereotype, and that's Manhattan.
I hope he means bad as in bad ass. Because if not  :comehere:

My advice: Once you hit Wichita, sleep the rest of the way to Manhappiness, because there is nothing of redeeming value to see. Stereotypes exist for a reason and that drive is a big reason for Kansas's.

Better advice: take the turnpike to Eldorado or the Matfield Green exit then go north to Manhattan. Its a nice scenic drive through the Flint Hills. The drive to Salina on the interstate is pretty boring and its not really any faster.
Stereotypes exist because most people never get off the interstate.

 i do have a thing for OSU fans...

When we lost by a field goal to them back in '07, I too had to go through the walk of shame. Just a part of traveling with your team.

pretty sure none of the insults thrown at us made any difference...since it was quickly sinking in that Prince was a gigantic fraud.

I own said purple natty tailgating shirt.  Matter of fact, I can almost guarantee I was in the group that heckled the band b/c that season we had student reserved seats right down by the opposing band.

The students at K-State are a bit mouthy (remember, it's mostly small town Kansas kids) but they're usually pretty funny and creative about it.
