Anyone been to Kobe down by P&L? Good? Fun? Any other recommendations?

Went to KOBE with the family a few years back one night. The one thing that bothered me was that our table cook was Hispanic/Mexican, not Japanese. Still did all the tricks and stuff, and the food was good. Still it bugged me. Any time I go to a Japanese Steak House I want a Japanese Chef or Chris Farley. I am in KC now but originally from Wichita. KOBEs in Wichita is amazing.

I'm not huge into the Japanese Steakhouse scene (high school prom was years ago) but if I was going to go to one, I'd hit Hibachi.

Ate at the one in PL a few months ago and was not impressed. Effing gojo's is somehow better.

QFT, Sumo is for elites. Whenever I go visit my 'rents I always casually suggest that we go out for some Chinese somewhere, maybe just a buffet or something. Knowing damn full well that my stepmom will immediately suggest a trip to Sumo. :lick:

Thought there was a Sumos in KC? Also, didn't they close the original Kobes in Wichita? Think there's just the west and Derby locations now...

The one by the P&L looks like crap from the outside, IIRC. Don't know why anyone would go inside to try it...
