If so, what would Snyds' range of responses be and how would Currie respond to each?
I'm really curious as to what Snyds' assessment of the situation is and what he plans to do about it, if anything, along with how much Currie will leave him be to figure it out.

Hypothetically, you could offer to place a large sum of "money" in a talented and highly qualified coach's bank account to entice him to work at K-State. A coach who may not otherwise want to work at K-State for coach Snyd's may reconsider if offered a large sum of "money".

Right now, paying better assistant coaches more money (within reason) should not be that major of an issue. Not at all implying that there's stacks of money lying around, I am just saying that things are going fairly well to quite well financially. They're on pace to average around 50,000 a game, basketball season tickets are sold out, donations are trending up . . . payouts from Radio TV/Sponsors/licensing are trending up.
It's going to be fascinating to see how this plays out, but right this moment I suspect things are in a holding pattern. I suspect that if the defense doesn't show signs of at least being coached better, that ADJC (with UPKS backing) will be discussing that issue with OB. From what I can tell, from an administrative standpoint, there's a couple of new sheriffs in town, and they inherited LHC Bill Snyder, and their support of LHC Bill Snyder only goes as far as what the trendline of K-State football looks like. That's my opinion.
What that ultimately means :dunno: there's just too many scenarios in play now . . . from absolutely nothing, to wholesale changes.

Well, you were half-right. I currently think getting rid of OB is the only answer, although I'm willing to hear OB out as to why he should stay.
Bigger-picture, one can have an opinion about football and not be a tard. It just has to be the right opinion. And I think your opinion about best prospects as it relates to replacing Cosh vs. OB is way off. Dare I say 'tarded?

Can Build a team of assistant Coaches that can: 1. coach'm up AND 2. recruit
Isn't a FP/TC and doesn't let people push his ass around or accept a losing attitude.
Isn't afraid to take a convict or two or "handle things internally" as long as that player is a future NFL player
Knows his X's & O's.
Loyal to the program and wouldn't ditch us for something better.
If you agree with some or all of those; give me an example of someone that can be all of those things AND is willing to come to manhattan, kansas.
by my count, our current coach is all of those things except for #1. Build a coaching staff. He's done it in the past; so, if he can get rid of shitty coaches like Cosh - aside from a possible heart attach or stroke, he would be the perfect coach. When he has failed to replace cosh or anyone else that sucks, then I'll be on the fire Bill bandwagon.

OB can't build a team of assistants that can coach'm up and recruit. He had a team a long time ago. They were a bunch of young, hungry* guys willing to have crap lives for a few years working under SlightlyLessOB and they bolted for greener pastures as soon as they could. He hasn't gotten one of those types of guys for years (a decade?). He tried this last go-around and struck out. Cosh isn't the anomaly.
I don't really care about the "loyal to the program" thing. It'd be nice, but it's unrealistic.
I think we'd have a better outlook getting a Leach/Leavitt/Bowden/some young rising assistant and giving him the keys to the place and being OB-free than finding a DC, who probably has limited employment options, and putting them in the Elliott/Cosh seat under OB.

he did ditch us for something better in the middle of the 2005 season. or am i remembering incorrectly that he quit in the middle of the season leaving ksu with its dick in its hand

Making Leavitt DC would further distance us from the pu$$y ku mentality of dealing with coaches, and GREATLY enhance our DC skills. It would also add some Florida recruiting to our efforts to upgrade the skill level of players on our roster. Unless you thought our skill level against NU and Baylor was adequate.

Ignore the fact that Bill was here 15 years ago; He's still in year two of THIS go around. Should still be given time to see his mistake and dump cosh.
FWIW, I dont' see OBz being at ksu within the next 3 years - by his own decision. Flying a banner to fire bill just seems like a waste of time & money. Dumping Cosh now is not only doable but would be a tremendous upgrade regardless of who replaces him. Leavitt seems more likely to take a DC job than a Div 1 HC job with his recent legal issues. Is my #1 choice for DC & later HC when the smoke clears. Not because I think he would be the best option, but because I think he is the best option that is likely to come.
