Wonder how different it would be if they did go back to the first college football game rather than the '71 cornhuskers.
K-State never had it :bawl:

This answers my question:
After receiving some feedback from our readers, we have checked the championship lineage if we had started The Belt with the 1936 Minnesota Golden Gophers as well as the first documented game between Princeton & Rutgers. The lineage confirmed what we expected in that the current champion is still the same. The Princeton/Rutgers lineage flowed directly to the 1971 Nebraska Cornhuskers as the Alabama Crimson Tide brought The Belt to the 1971 Orange Bowl. If we had started with the 1936 Minnesota Golden Gophers, the 2 lines converged on October 31, 1942. When Alabama traveled to Athens, Georgia to meet the Georgia Bulldogs, the Crimson Tide were the champions of the Princeton/Rutgers lineage while the Bulldogs held the Minnesota Belt. With Georgia's 21-10 victory, they became the unified, undisputed champion.

during my hours of research for the CPI
You mean posting you very favorite teams in the top 25 and then lumping everyone else below them arbitrarily!?

I was going to go with "smoking a bunch of weed and trying to remember the top 25 that you read earlier today"

How do your handlers keep you from flinging poop when you're inside?

Hey buster brown, my rankings usually come out right after I have finished eating my Berry Berry Kix. If that's at 3 in the afternoon that's God's fault not mine.

Berry berry kix are pretty delicious.

They are not magically delicious though.

I enjoy the fact that Bono is your avatar when you said that. I imagine him (in his MacPhesto phase) saying that.

If OU beats Baylor we have a good chance of getting back the belt. I WANT THE BELT BACK!
-
Way to bring back a dead thread, but I'm totally with you. I will root for OU against Baylor, JUST because I want KSU to have another shot at the BELT!

was talking about this on Sunday.

OU isn't beating Baylor. OSU might.

Auburn and Baylor play in a bowl game, we beat Auburn next year and take it back. /thread

If Baylor is playing Auburn in a bowl game, they won't still have the belt. Plus, Auburn isn't beating Baylor.

I'd rather that the belt stays in the B12 so we have multiple shots at it.

Auburn beats Alabama, wins the SEC. Try and keep up.

That would put them in the Sugar Bowl. Baylor can only play in that game if they don't win the Big 12.

Nope. FSU, Oregon and Ohio State all lose. Do I really have to spell this entire thing out for you?

It just doesn't seem all that likely. Plus, if Baylor is playing for a national championship, then by God, I hope they win. TSC
