Not much mention of how mobile QB's make a joke of our defense, and R. Griffin III appears to fit the profile of a mobile QB.  I don't think he has the speed of Martinez, but he certainly has the quick cuts that make our defensive backfield look flat-footed.  Can we scheme our way into offsetting this?

I probably should've emphasized that more.  Griffin is a very good runner, extremely explosive and Baylor has a nice triple option zone read scheme that allows him to be successful.  Plus, Finley is a solid back.  I'd say he's similar to the CFU QB, not quite as fast, but bigger and a better thrower b/c he has more experience.  There schemes are quite a bit different, but I'd say of the offenses we've seen this year, Baylor is probalby most like CFU overall as well.

So, will Baylor let Coffman spend the whole game taking one-step drops and throwing quick outs to the WRs?  :crossfingers:

You made a great point about Snyder's playcalling in there, going back to his comments last year about how you can't ask a player to do something he can't do and expect him to be successful. He knows what CC can do, and when he asks him to make decisions, they're simple decisions and simple throws/reads/runs that he can handle.

Basically, Snyder is driving this car home without a clutch right now. It's pretty rough ridin' amazing at times, even though (or especially because) the car still needs serious repairs.

I think speed will kill us more then power or cuts.  Neb's strength was running through massive holes and accelerating through them and then beyond the 2nd level.  Martinez's speed killed us more then him making a great cutback.

I'm not convinced that Martinez is significantly faster than Godfrey.

I think Coffman has the mental capacity to make good reads/adjustments and can't find much fault this season with how he has performed in that manner.  I see Carson as someone who knows what to do but lacks the physical ability to do it and as a result has litte self confidence.  He seems to be able to run the option ok with the right reads but runs so damn slow and has no "hip swivel" that it doesn't matter.

Yep, you got me. Finished 7-4 in the 3rd/4th grade division last year. Only 2 wins from being champs though.
