Title: Rumblings check...
Post by: The1BigWillie on October 18, 2010, 02:38:59 PM
I'm getting some rumblings out of some supposedly connected ku contacts that the NCAA is going to announce a slap to ku and take a scholarship or two due to infractions regarding intitutional control and the bball program.

Is this old news or a crazy new rumor?  Also says Selby will be out until conference play, best case scenario.

That seems kind of weird. Isn't the question as to his amateur status? Either he's amateur or not; doesn't seem like a suspension-type issue.

Best case scenario for whom, us or them?

Yeah, it's amateur status.  I don't know the ins and outs I just know what this guy is emailing a few people.  He's probably full of crap but it's still fun to talk about.

I could see a few games suspension but not an entire semester.  Seems like if the infraction was that severe he would just be declared totally ineligible.  :dunno:

As I've heard it, Selby's case is NOT one of amateur status, rather one of improper benefits, which leaves the door open for a suspension.

Aren't the two pretty closely related?  Also, not to say that the media is always right, but hasn't it been reported all along that the issue is amateur status?

Katz's corner says Selby's issue is academics not amateur status.  Also, I thought everyone on here said the same before Katz went into his corner to  :blah: about Selby.  Bottom line:  Morningstar's inheritance is frozen and will soon belong to the FBI

I would guess best case for KU because him being out for noncon really wouldn't benefit us at all other than him missing out on experience. And from what I hear about him, he is not really short on experience. The guy is good.

Also, on an unrelated note.. How the shazbot! is Morningstar still around? He has to be like 25.

I think that's a load of bullpoop. It's all about whether he's an amateur. (I guess it's possible they are both issues).
