I think Cosh would be a good fit as their HC.

Sounds like maybe Mike Leach will be getting a call.

Not sure if the Air Raid will work well when it starts getting cold in late November.  Historical average temp for that month rarely exceeds 46 degrees after the first weekend of that month.

No.  The obvious candidate is the Fat Man.  Remember, he was hired as a "consultant" a few weeks ago.  HCIW.

The uk to Minnesota pipeline continues.

Guess they didn't hire him after all.

It's gonna be Mangina, though.   :goodbyecruelworld: at having this fat loser coach at my new school.

They have already asked Tony Dungy. They are trying to get the biggest name possible. While Mangino may end up coaching there, he is somebody that they would settle for after a few other coaches say no.

That job just seems like it would be a good one.  I can't really think of a reason why a coach couldn't win a lot of games at Minnesota.

Yeah, I imagine it's hard to compete with a large city when it comes to entertainment options.  Seems like I remember hearing about the U struggled with attendance even when they had pretty damn good teams.

I could see Rich Rodriguez jumping ship at Michigan for Minnesota. Leave before the lynch mob gets to him. He'd be a better fit there than at Michigan.

Is Jones still @ Hawaii?  Would have to be one hell of a recruiting job to get him to trade Hawaii for Minnesota.  Don't get me wrong, Minnesota is beautiful but it's cold as crap up there.

Heard an interview on 810 last Saturday with Bielema.  He actually said that he tells Florida recruits that the NFL will have doubts about their abilities and will drop them in the draft if they haven't played in cold weather.  I am not making this up.

I damn near wrecked my car.  Apparently Wisconsin gets a lot of stupid/gullible Florida kids.

No he won't

Why not?  Seems like a guy who would be a great recruiter and would be much better at getting kids to listen to him more than adults.

Since he was with KC, I thought he had the personality/style that was more befitting a college coach.

The one problem I see with Herm as a college HC is that he is every bit the bible beater that Gill is.  But there have been several guys that were mediocre at best NFL coaches that had great success at the college level.

This is true, but it didn't seem to me that he imposed it on others, a la Gill.

Chings-  If I spent hours every week compiling a rankings index that, for all intents and purposes, appears to have been created by a Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) monkey, I don't think I would attempt to PI a person for not remembering that June Jones had left the WAC for CUSA.

Just a heads up guys, but there's this rumor going around about computers going crazy at midnight on Jan 1, 2000.  Something called WhyTwoKay I think?  Anyway I would stock up on some dry goods maybe?

So the CPI is for crap because it's not in line with other computer polls/formulas/BCS?  Is that the route you're going down?  Ya see, that's the beauty of creating your own ranking formula, it reflects what you feel is important.  Same goes for Harris, Saggarin, computer polls, etc.  It's Ching's index.  Like he gives two squirts of duck crap what you think about it.

Also, you've attempted to PI people on much shakier ground.  So shut the eff up.

Who would ever want to coach at the University of Minnesota? If I were a coach, I would have no interest unless they paid me 4 times what any other school would. A school that fires a coach after losing a bowl game has no business having a football program to begin with.
