Title: Reassuring stat
Post by: 06wildcat on October 12, 2010, 10:08:44 PM
To refute the tardville logic that KU stopped the 1-dimensional GT so they will easily stop K-State. K-State's passing ypg is nearly double GT's. Oh, and KU shut down GT's run defense to the tune of 5.6 ypc.

It's going to suck so rough ridin' bad when we lose Thursday.

Like, I can see KSU losing. Maybe by even a lot. At the same time, I just don't think it will happen. I think we win by 10 or so.

I think Thursday will be the ultimate KITN. I'm not even sold that the talent level is equal. I just think this is a very opportune time for the CFB gods to crap on K-State and those times have never failed in the past.

I think we will score first, force a short possession by ku to get the ball back and drive back into the redzone, ready to go up by 2 scores and then we will have a crucial turnover which ku will turn into points and the dog fight will be on.

I would be furious.

I'd be all "This is A&M all over again" Would make for a very good KITN.

I fully expect something like this. We'll get some great momentum at the start, then fizzle out and have a dogfight to the finish.

Remember that first drive at KU under Prince in 2006 after the Texas game? Freeman hit the TE down the field for a big gain, and all the KSU fans there were like "WOOOOOO!!! EAT IT, SQUAWKS!!!!"  And then things went downhill from there on out. Freeman's INT or fumble or whatever from the endzone just before halftime.

Still not quite the dagger of Nelson burning Talib for a 7-0 lead a year later. I was at that game in 06 and every KU fan in the stadium was ready for an ass kicking after that first play. I think we ended up with a FG and were never in the game after that.

Man this happens so often, and it totally changes the game.

Off the top of my head, Farmageddon last year.  We were about ready to go up by 14, turnover, and we were in a dogfight the rest of the game.  Also, pretty sure the same thing that happened against UCF.  They scored quickly, missed a field goal, and it was a whole new game.

If this happens against KU, we'll be in a lot of trouble.
