Hmm, I know a few band alumns that were not pleased. This was the response they got when they asked the band director about it:
Thank you for your email and your support of the Marching Jayhawks.
You were not incorrect. You did hear a version of Eat em Up performed by the band this past Saturday. However, this shortie is not a fight song specific to KSU. In fact, Eat em Up and its various versions are used by universities across the nation. We have decided to expand our repertoire of in game music and have included a new version of Eat em Up. Please join us for the yells, "Rock Chalk Jayhawk, Rock Jayhawk, Go K U!"
Again, thank you for your email. We appreciate your continued support.
Should be something nice for our purple friends to enjoy on 10/14.

They can have the key jingle thingy. I often refuse to participate on account of how Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) it is.

They were bound to pick up some of the Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) things we do after all of those Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) "I root for Kansas teams" douche bags got off of our bandwagon and onto theirs in 2007. Just think of it as them picking up our STDs.
KU does have a black coach now and they do suck, so we should expect these dumbsticks to start coming to our games again. Just :pray: we don't pick up "Rip his rough ridin' head off!" or that Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) cheer from that video with the band guys that was posted here about 12 times over the summer.

I'm pretty sure there is a thread pointing out that James Naismith is a liar, cheat, and thief, rapist, and and stole the game of basketball from some other guy. I think it does give him credit for inventing AIDS, though. So you can have dibs on that one.

Probably. Been a little while since I was in the student section. Used to be "hey, hey, hey, goodbye" ten years ago. We didn't do Happy trails then that I recall.

If he's talking about the "Happy Trails" thing, then I'm pretty sure every school that plays football at every level does that. I didn't realize it was such a time-honored KU tradition.

Why are we arguing specifics about who copied who? The point of this thread is to note that KU and KSU are pretty much the exact same institution. EMAW = EMAJ.

It's kind of like identical twins. To the twins themselves and their families, they are much different. To everyone else, they could wear the same colored shirts and totally mind eff people.
