No arrowhead for farmageddon. (assuming KU-MU is there)
-
Turkey, then Farmageddon!
:ksu:
-
Weird schedule. ISU would have been a home game this year without the Arrowhead deal, yet we get them at home next year while having to travel to Lawrence again. Could have easily flopped those two games without much trouble. Every other game seems to pretty much follow regular scheduling, and we do get five home games next year. Season tickets are probably going up $50 because of this.

@KU b2b is a lot better than going @OU, @OSU, @A&M, @UT.

That is really strange it must have messed with their schedules too much. I'm guessing everyone has this issue in their schedule somewhere.

Double Header. We play the the 11:00 am game and they play the 6:00 p.m. Both on ABC

Rumblings that this was one of KU's requests during the process.

Should add THIS. Looks like we'll be playing the CTR in mid-November every year according to the posted schedules. Austin in November  Listening to UT fans complain that the cold weather beat them other years

I like that we don't have OU and UT at home in the same year for the next decade plus. That was if we ever do have a strong team, we have one or the other strong teams at home for the chance to win the conf.

Looks like this was probably done because of the possibility of Farmageddon. The scheduling coordinator said (http://www.big12sports.com/ViewArticle.dbml?&ATCLID=204998673&DB_OEM_ID=10410) they wanted to be sure that teams with neutral site games never wound up with only 3 actual home games in any given year, but rather 4-4-1. Looks like if they'd kept the schedule the way it was and if Farmageddon had continued, we would have had only 3 home games in 2012.
Edit: Another possibility is that this was done because of KU-MU at Arrowhead, and we were just the opponent that they changed on KU's schedule.

So KU gets their Super Bowl at home two years in a row?
This also adds certainty to when their bye week will be. :flush:

They play Oklahoma the week before us, so no more Bye for the hawks, unless Oklahoma dies in a plane crash or something.

 at KU's schedule. OU, KSU & UT...can you imagine the meltdown that the Fat Man would have had.

this. it really is a fairly balanced schedule year in and year out.
-
Anyone else think it's kinda weird/sucks that the order of the opponents never changes? Although I do like the set ups for when you have home games and road games.

nope. it's perfect.

I'm sure ku will manage to finagle something. Something like "please let us play you the first week of the season so we can have a bye week for our superbowl, then you can have a bye week before TTech!"
-
I'm so excited about this.
parody post. seriously, who could get excited about football?

obvious great job by john currie in securing the wildcats a great league schedule for years to come. great job mr currie.

Don't like the Bye though that early. Other than that, can't complain too much I suppose.

I imagine OB will work on getting the bye right before Big 12 play in the future.
-
I"d have to say, this schedule could be much worse. Would much rather have ours than KU's
Anyone notice how it's weighted towards the end of the year with OU, OSU, A&M, and UT in a row? At least with a Synd's team, this would work in our favor, since he's always liked to improve through the year and peak late. It might dash our hopes for a championship every year though. Oh well.
-
Its going to be nice starting and finishing conference play with a win every year.

agree. first thing i thought is this would have been a great schedule during DOD.

am guessing kans requested this to help with their flailing athletic budget.

you have to admit, badasses would do that.

So Nevada and Fresno State are staying in the WAC for one more year. This means the MWC will play a 7-game schedule in 2011. They're all going to be scrambling for games. Can we drop Eastern Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) State or the Other ksu to get a game with Air Force?

That would be cool. My dad went to the AFA so I've never really been able to talk crap to him about sports.

Why settle for Air Force when UNLV is available?

I would not be interested in a road game in Laramie. UNLV and Colorado State would be great for this. Air Force would probably just stomp our nuts really hard.
