how many different ways can you explain to people that they need to contribute to their 401k?  there's not actual money advice other than for werido types who want to keep various envelopes stashed around the house for different purposes so they don't bust their budget.  it should be called Magazine For People Who Shouldn't Be Allowed to Handle Money to Begin With But Have To

I'm too easily distracted to do any serious reading on the internet/cpu/etc.  Plus it is a lot more relaxing to sit back with a book or ma than to stare at a screen.

Question for you elites with free or ridiculously cheap magazine subscriptions.

How do you do it?

Thinking about subscribing to Economist and Nat Geo and would appreciate advice on getting them on the cheap.

TIA

The Economist is the only mag I subscribe to. It's not too expensive, but I don't know of any super cheap options for it (other than walking down trendy neighborhoods in Georgetown and stealing it off their front porch).

They were giving away a sub to the Economist a couple months ago.  You were supposed to be a teacher to get it but I don't know how they would check.

Does anyone get magazine subscriptions they don't pay for?

I haven't paid for ESPN the Magazine, ever, but still receive a copy every month. Not sure why.

Find some junior high kid selling magazine subscriptions for a fundraiser, they're usually extremely cheap....then let your subscription run out.  After about the 3rd or 4th notice that your subscription is expiring, they'll start offering cheap deals to get you to sign back up.  All about patience.

I don't pay for any of mine but I always sign up for them via weird bizmag deals or something.  I bet your grandparents got you a sub and just keep paying for it or something.  Sorry about it being ESPN the Mag bro  :frown:

I always sign up on Amazon, they sometimes have ridiculous deals, like 14.99 for a 3 year sub.

They keep sending my ESPN the Mag, too. Such a crappy magazine. LOOK AT ME! I'M ENORMOUS AND FILLED WITH PICTURES AND BRIGHTLY-COLORED TEXT!
