Title: Man up and post how much money you lost on KU.
Post by: SkinnyBenny on September 12, 2010, 02:46:16 PM
I didn't lose any money because I don't bet on sports.  Because I'm not a moron.

Man up.

get_HIT is lying face down in a gutter as we speak.  Poor kid bet the family pig farm on Ga Tech, and it cost him his life.

I won money on this game. Picked KU to cover.  Georgia Tech had 8 yards passing against South Carolina State. EIGHT!!  Nesbitt was 1/6, with 1 interception.  They are a 1 dimensional team and when Kansas figured that out, they took care of business.  I was surprised GT was able to get it within 3. They are terrible.

I did lose some money, but not more than I could afford to lose, I guess.  I was pissed because the line at the sportsbook I used went up to 14.5 points before I made the bet, so I even bought a half point to get it down to 14.  It was stupid of me and I probably won't be betting any more this year.  There, I said it.

280 yards 3 TD's 0 INT's.  Only reason he didn't have more against UCLA was because he didn't need to.

$15 kind of.  Since the game was close, I took goEMAW kid Cole over to BWW so we could watch the end of it and the others in the early time slot.  We each got dessert that we really didn't need after the 5 Guys burgers.  Apple pie was surprisingly good though.

I said man up and post HOW MUCH money you lost.

Well initially I felt confident enough to put $500 on it, and that's what I deposited into the sportsbook account, but then the line moved up to 14.5 and I was reading a sportsbook message board discussing that game in which most posters cautioned against taking GT in that game especially after the comments by the NDSU coach about KU because that sort of disrespect tends to fire up the players and coaches.  So that kind of cooled my jets a little about even betting on that game at all.  Then the morning of the game I was like "oh what the hell", and wagered $360 to potentially win $300.  In buying the extra half point I had to risk another $45 (going from -105 to -120) than if I had just taken GT at -14.5.  So since I didn't wager the entire $500 I was originally going to, can I say I saved $140.   :dunno:

I was surprised at how terrible GaTech was.  I was also surprised at how terrible KU was.  Jordan Webb is embarrassingly terrible and so are GaTech's receivers.  GaTech has an atrocious defense (must have graduated a bunch of guys, b/c I thought that was supposed to be a strong suit) and KU's offense is pathetic (we all knew this from the week before).

The only thing worse to bet on than College Football is College Basketball.

$10 or $30 depending on how you look at it.  Part of a parlay, I took KU U 17.5 points.

For my first post: I was up $40 on the year and put it all on GT -14. NOBODY can be blamed for betting on Ga. Tech in that game.

I guess the amount of money I lost is however much I value my time x 3 1/2 hours that I'll never get back.

I thought it was a good game to watch, a lot of big plays.  IMO KU looked like a dangerous team.
