Title: Craig Bohl Destroys KU
Post by: steve dave on September 08, 2010, 05:55:00 PM
Quote
"I think the environment that we're going to play in Cedar Falls is going to be much more of a hostile environment than Memorial Stadium in Kansas. That was pretty docile," North Dakota State coach Craig Bohl said. "And the type of team that we're going to be playing is going to be a much more physical, aggressive football team than KU. And quite frankly I think we're going to be playing a better opponent. I know one school is in the Big 12 and the other one is in the Missouri Valley. I think that gives an indication on how we see Missouri Valley play and the respect we give Northern Iowa."

haha this is great! as ksu fans we already new that the environment at most ku football home games is dead, but for another coach to publicly come out and say it sucks LOL. and on top of that to basically say that UNI is better than ku at football(and basketball)!!! this guy is great

Trust me . . . had we looked like ku did, it would have been the exact same atmosphere in the Bill.

SODJ, what in the hell are you doing? This is your opportunity to completely demolish your arch nemesis and you are deciding against it....?? :dunno:

Bohl was the defensive coordinator under Solich at NU. Maybe Bohl and Turner didn't get along too well.  :dunno:

Northern Iowa 2
Kansas 0

I'm tempted to give Northern Iowa another "win" because their experience with Terry Allen was quite positive.

Did you notice that KU helped provide the inspiration for the theme song to this week's Bottom 10?  Chicken Fried:

Tied for 5th on the S-list.  Ouch.  Listening to 810 Sports today KK pointed out that KU is playing with their Orange Bowl recruiting class.  Good thing they capitalized on that once in a century season they had.

It's so bad that it seems almost wrong to tease my beaker friends... well, maybe not!

Being a Nubb fan I expect that you also know that they were also teammates at NU together under Osborne.  Teammates, forever.  It ripped his heart out to throw Gill under the bus but the truth had to be told.

Ay chihuahua.

But yeah, the UNI dome is actually kinda tough to play in. Their fans can get kinda loud, and their team is usually a 1-aa playoff contender every year. I don't think Bohl is talking out of his ass.

He wasn't talking out his ass.  UNI is a tougher place to play than Memorial.  No biggie.

Our stadium is a joke.  No cantilevered upper decks mean that half the crowd is really far away from the field.  The acoustics are horrible, and they put the students in a freaking corner.  If that wasn't enough, they keep floating plans to "improve" the 95 year old crap hole.  For the love of god, float a $100 million bond and build a whole new 60,000 seat stadium in the same spot.

Hahahahahahahaha comparing the UNI Dome (Cap: 16,000) to Memorial Stadium (Cap: 50,000) and saying the Dome will be more hostile. Granted, the dome holds in all noise... but still.... its 16,000 people.... I cant say I'd describe Panther Nation as hostile but to each their own I guess.

I don't think North Dakota State is going to be invited back to Lawrence anytime soon with the way they are treating those poor Jayhawks.

Are you sure? I'm going to go along with the kutards and say no one scores a TD this year on the Bison defense. I guess maybe if UNI makes 5 more field goals than NDSU that's still a 2 TD win

i could see this just as easily devastating the gills as i could see it motivating them. bohl basically told it llike it was. it's not like ndsu played a good game.  they had 13 penalities accounting for almost 200 yds. if i was gill i would have the team fast this thursday and friday.

KU fans had a lot to get fired up about last weekend, with the one field goal and all.

Anyone else think this whole "no touchdowns on my watch" thing is Gill's way of limiting the use of "rip his rough ridin' head off"?

Maybe if KU had classier fans, Gill would be ok with scoring.

KU fans,

If Gill is offering some sort of no cussing pact, you should sign it.  It is obvious that he holds all the cards on this one and is taking it very seriously.

Just a suggestion.

Your friend,

CNS

So, first KU fans blame the loss on having 2 BCS teams in KS and now Beems is blaming the shitty atmosphere on a horrible football team?
