This is bad for me.  I just moved to Minneapolis, and I assume a lot of what the Daaaakohhtaaaah people get is what we will get here.  And now I see that the UCLA game here is only on ESPN2.  Can I look forward to a lot of watching games on my laptop?  Please say no.  Please make me feel better.

What's the logic behind showing ESPNews HD on ESPN2 HD during our game while showing our game on ESPN2 SD?

There's always the extremely expensive PPV option that you can buy. That helps some of the time. But you are probably mostly screwed.
