 God I hate our fans. To wit:
And the new name of our student section is?
Did we ever adopt a new identity/name for the K-State Student section?
If not, allow me to reopen the discussion today with my shot at it.
How about the fanatic part of the Wildcat: "The Wild". And fellow Wildcats, our students can be as wild as it comes.
Why is BSFS such an intimidating place for teams to visit? Why is the Bram now the Octagon of Doom? Where does the Doom come from? It’s because “The Wild” lives there on game day, and our Cats feed there on whatever dares to enter (and obnoxious phony birds are the specialty on the menu).
That’s the connotation of “The Wild”. It’s descriptive, recognizable, unrelenting, and it can be unique to K-State in big-time D1 college sports.
For Tradition:
It’s an in-your-face identity and a participative standard that future students and generations of Wildcats will assume the responsibility carry forward and to live up to.
To the Media:
BSFS and the Octagon of Doom are the venues... but what’s inside is where “The Wild” things are.
TV announcers currently gape to adequately describe what really goes on in the OOD. “The Wild” is the perfect descriptive they can anchor their commentary to.
With very little effort and marketing, there would soon be no doubt about what "The Wild" is throughout the conference and across the country…
Pregame Chant: We are The Wild; Bring on the Cats
Theme song: Wild Thing by the Troggs
. The Wild thing... I think I love ya
“The Wild”. The Fanatic part of the Wildcat. This is as close as I’ve heard to the total package!
So, how about some expansion on the concept from the GoPowercat “focus group”.

I think a Power Towel of some sort would work better. With added chant.
-
doesn't every fan base have these sorts?

doesn't every fan base have these sorts?
yes but that's not the point.
-
we are lucky enough to have a higher percentage of these guys than other schools. these hayseeds provide me nothing but pure entertainment.
-
I think that the fan section should be called "the angered up people who throw sandwiches." What do you guys at the goEMAW.com focus group?

Maybe shorten it to the Sandwich Gallery? :dunno:
-
My dear god. All this guy has to do is send this to our athletic department and he is in. He prob already works there.
-
Maybe we can start throwing burritos and burrito bowls and parlay it into a sponsership deal with Chipotle? Bet I could throw a burrito pretty far/accurately.
-
i love that post. it's brilliant.

I can't figure exactly why, but I LOVE that part in particular.

Tiiiiime for powerespect-y updates from the thread! Ready? OK!
An ideal name. Creative. Works at multiple levels. Well done! (But just "the Wild," not the Wild Thing (except for the music)... nothing else in the name. Don't muck it up. -Purple Sage
Print up the shirts baby! -JackEric

Quit throwing your New York "eliteness" out there. Maybe you belong over east at "Snob Hill?" We only have room for salt of the Earth ppl over here

get your east coast bias out of here, you effete little busybody.
-
Maybe Bill can speak to the student section a bit before games. Coach 'em up, if you will. We'd be unstoppable. Ooh, wait!! Maybe Bill can do a 12th man thing and let one of the students play special teams!!! Like, just pick the guy or gal with the most school spirit out of the crowd and put em deep on the first kickoff. Could be freaking epic!!

not student related but this should be blared before teh wildcats from the university of kansas state enter the LHC Bill Snyder family stadium and rush onto wagner field.
-
The way some of your young folks act, why not just name it the, "Vagina"? :dunno:
-
That kind of crap is impossible to make up... this is the guy who has the seats opposite the student section in either venue who just sits on his ass and claps. What a dumb idea, you don't consciously "make" tradition... it just happens.

Love this.
Would enjoy seeing the Classy Cats sitting in contemporary furniture at midfield while drinking very trendy vodka drinks looking rather bored with it all at the time.
