Title: Taco Bell "street style" tacos ('clams low sodium alert)
Post by: slimz on July 29, 2010, 06:11:17 PM
Local Taco Bell is offering "cantina tacos" now. Steak, chicken, or carnitas. Double corn tortillas, onion, cilantro, lime. Not bad...although it's still Taco Bell meat.

Realized that making this style of taco would be a great low-sodium option when I want to have Mexican at home. Flour tortillas have like 25% your RDA of sodium (PER tortilla). The corn ones have almost no sodium...plus you cut out even more sodium with the onion and cilantro instead of cheese and sour cream.

I had the carnitas one.  it was too expensive @ $1.59.  very small, grossish but not too bad of meat.

I would say yes, but an more aggressive choice (IMHO) would be corn.

Just go get tacos in KCK, sure it's kinda sketch but it's way more legit. Also, why get "cantina" tacos at TBell when you can get the bacon club chalupa or cheesy gordita crunch?

I don't need legit for lunch, I need something fast, convenient, and cheap.  KCK is none of those things.

What are you some sort of dumbass?  One minute you're talking about legit mexican food then you reference something called a bacon club chalupa or cheesy gordita crunch.  GMAFB dumbass.

I like my fast food American and full of ridiculous gimmicky toppings, like bacon on a chicken taco with ranch, not fast food that tries to be ethnic and true to it's heritage.

chalupa's are like greese sponges.  what did they call the non-fried ones, they were good.

ate at Tacos Por Favor on saturday.  incredsies.  i had three different tacos- carnitas, al pastor, and carne asada.  all great.  the locals told me that the real secret is their breakfast, i wasn't able to indulge this time- but i will soon.
