Really really would not want a typo. Or really really would. Not sure. Probably depends.

I had a dream that there was a time portal in the basement of a house that took me back to 1997 and I was taking camera phone picks of 1997 things and sending them to my friends so they would believe me.
I left my wallet back in time though and had to find it! right before I woke up.

An app that is scissors. I always need scissors and never have any.
-
i would like an application for my mobile phone that kept track of my tanning cycles
maybe it would work with the camera? c'mon ee's get with the program!
-
Maybe a "rate my poop" app where you can take a picture and it will give it a score. You can have challenges with all your friends.
-
tons of really bad ideas in this thread, tons of them.
maybe one of you could invent an app that gives you good ideas.

Atleast I didn't come up with an idea that would instantly drain your battery and leave you stuck in 1944. Have fun with that, guy!!!!

Breathalyzer App.
-
app that predicts winning lottery numbers.

Maybe an app that you can charge your phone by just laying it near a power source.

ok i thought of a good one i would use. the app places a carryout order at a random restaurant in your zip code. you don't get told what restaurant or what the food is that was ordered, instead you get google maps directions sent to you guiding you there.
i would love this.

Pretty solid idea.
I bought that Wunder radio app for $7, but I'd at least twice as high for Cire's app.

Would love to be able to track my bar tab. :(

Can currently do one better than that. Pay with your app.

An app that tells you what bars support what teams. This way, when you are stuck far away from EMAWland on a vacation or just moved or whatever, you can find a bar of friendlies.

An app that pak heads the picture you just took with your phone so it can be instantly posted on goEMAW.

I had this idea that you could get one of those cell phone holders for like an iPhone or Evo or something and put it on your belt right where the buckle is. Then you have this app with a bunch of preloaded images of belt buckles on it. You could change the image as you wanted. You could also upload custom buckles.

invent an app that allows a person to travel through time through their phone. dial 1944, travel to 1944. dial 2020, travel to 2020.
been thinking about this post since you posted it.
what if, for example, you dialed 2013 and the world actually ended in 2012? would it give you the "wrong number" jingle, or would it send you into 2013 and you'd instantly die or something?

pretty good q.
maybe send you to a different world in the galaxy/solar system (same thing?) that hadn't ended yet? could be the secret to space travel.

also, follow up question...
when you dial, does it transport you to that time and put you at the exact spot that you're at? Like, if I'm standing at the 50 yard line at BSFS and I dial 1100, will it put me at that exact spot?
I wonder for 2 reasons....if you go too far back, you will probably be in the middle of an ocean or something. Also, if you go back to the dinosaurs, what if a dinosaur was walking at that exact spot at that exact second and crushed you?
i'm getting pretty close to sealing the deal with this appy, just need some clarification.

This can be done. Need a control system for whatever AV you want to control. Your control processor is on a dedicated network, and you dial in on that network using your android app or iPhone/iPad app. Full control. :gocho:

when me and the team originally whiteboarded the concept and pulled together the specs, we envisioned that the app would put you in the same place as you were when you dialed the date. it adds to the complexity of time travel and ensures people will do their homework before just popping in a date. thoughts?

maybe split it up into 2 different appys? One is the "Professional Version" for people like CNS Casey, and does everything you've been talking about. The other version, we'll call it "Beginner's Version," will be for people like wes mantooth, who just want to show off to their buddies and won't take time to research. It'll re-route them to someplace where they won't immediately die.
Just thinking that if we break it up into 2 versions, it will slide by BSAC's review fairly easy.

This will kill all possible fun to be had when using TimeApp while drunk.
Also, need a work around for 911, although, I guess time traveling to the year 911 will remove you from whatevs harm you were in at the time of dialing 911. But what if you are reporting a crime happening to someone else? :ohno:
-
remember when i said that the pro version of TimeApp (not sure about that name) would be for people like CNS Casey? erase that part.

Look, if you want me to test it out, all you have to do is ask.
Thinking out of the box here(let's face it, someone has to) but TimeApp would be boring as crap if it only took you to the exact spot. Think about it. As an American, it would be pretty rough ridin' limiting.
I would suggest some sort of travel app, lets call it TravelApp, be packaged with TimeApp. Could call it the UltimateMobilityApp(trade marking this).

I could get with this. You can use the google maps feature already on iphones, and the person selects where the want to be transported, and that's also when you dial up a #.
Not digging TimeApp/TravelApp/UltimateMobilityApp.
How about "Travel 3000 Super Adventure"

if i'm browsing the app store and i see something called "TimeApp" or another one called "Travel 3000 Super Adventure," I know which one I'm buying.

thing is, we already designed a special button you have to press at the same time as dialing the year you're going to, and you have to be in the app, not just dialing your phone. also, there's a special message that says "are you sure you want to time travel to the year 911?" and there's a green "Yes" button and a "Red" no button.
this crap was ironed out on day one of our brainstorming session.

gotta be honest, Travel 3000 Super Adventure scares the living crap out of me. First, the dinosaur thing. Just picturing someone time travel back to dinosaur times, and getting squashed by a T-Rex. LAWSUIT.
Also, worried about people going back and rough ridin' with stuff. Can Travel 3000 Super Adventure be made in a way that people can't change the past?

Fantastic.
This, but with delivery. Just so you can avoid accidentally driving into the hood or something.

well, going to the hood to get good food is prob something you ordinarily wouldn't do. so, delivery is not an option.
you will be fine. there's plenty of places that have great food in the hood and are safe to go to.

why not just have an option to do either one? have that be one of the settings or parameters. i would use the crap out of this. think the delivery aspect of it would add even more to the :surprised:

had an idea for a game app.
the game is simple, with many different variations. its based off an ongoing game a good friend and i play. its like risk in that the object of the game is to "collect" pieces on a map. the map can change with the type of game you play. the map could be comprised of pieces that are countries, provinces or states within a country, cities, counties, continents, whatever you want. you "collect" a piece by being the last person to have been in that piece. the app would basically let you play against whoever you want to play against and allow you to create your own game with options for public or private games etc. letting you pick whatever color or create a profile for your country. the app could ping you every time you enter a new piece, asking if you would like to collect it, or have the option to do manual collection. throughout the game you could look at each games map to see who has what, and what time/date it was taken.
it could even get more advanced. for example, if two people are in the same piece at the same time they can be presented with a challenge. or maybe elect to have a challenge take place any time a person tries to claim an already claimed piece. the challenge could be a simple sub-game on your phones (like a quiz or puzzle) or a real life challenge where the players have to report who won.
pretty simple. i just wish i knew how to make apps.

I thought of an idea for an app this morning. Not sure if it is legal(privacy law, etc :ohno:), but if it is, I think it would be extraordinarily easy to build and implement*.
*I know noting about programing or interfacing databases.

Nope, has to do with GPS and your phone...

-
ShrinkApp
enter a number and hit enter. the app will change the size of the user by that number. enter 2 you get 2 times bigger (proportionally). enter 0.5 you get 2 times smaller. also the phone changes size with you (along with anything else in DIRECT contact with your skin).
enter a negative number and you turn inside out and die.

Breathalyzer App.
I finally have my keychain breathalyzer and breathalyzer app... I really called my shot here.
http://www.bactrack.com/products/bactrack-vio-smartphone-keychain-breathalyzer (http://www.bactrack.com/products/bactrack-vio-smartphone-keychain-breathalyzer)
I did some trial runs while watching Bruceketball the other night... 4 Bug Light pounders over about an hour took me to .0646... I'm going to binge the crap out of happy hour today and see how blazed I can get in an hour. Stay tuned.
-
I patented and am currently building an app that syncs up with different parking garages and tells you if/when there is an opening and how many.
Roll out of bed, check the app and see there are no spaces available in the KSU parking garage. eff it, I didn't want to go to my 8:30 chem lab. Back to sleep it is.

celebrity autotune app. Modulates the sound waves of your voice so that you sound exactly like any of your favorite celebrities. Start with the unmistakable big time voices; Arnold Schwarzenegger, Don Pardo, Samuel L. Jackson, Christopher Walken, Ja Rule, Al Pacino. Once you get a solid database, start adding more obscure celebs. Can you imagine the hours of fun you could have prank calling your friends? Just imagine, you prank call one of your buddies a couple hours before you had plans to meet up at a bar to watch the game.
You: Hey buddy! What's new?
Friend/victim: Um, so you won't believe this...but I just got a call from Walt Goggins asking if I was in the market for a used Volkswagon Cabriolet.
You: That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard in my life.
...but it won't actually be the most ridiculous thing you ever heard in your life...because you were the one who placed the call to your friend pretending to be Walt Goggins. Oh man!
Features include:
*Telephone number scrambler that will cause the person on the receiving end of the phone call to think they are getting called from either a NYC or LA area code.
*Pro version will include ability to create custom ones that aren't in the database. Just record the voice of the person you want to sound like and the app will take care of the rest. Because let's face it...no matter how many strongly worded e mails you write, the developers are probably never going to get around to adding Renee Stevens. You're just gunna have to wait for the next Spangles commercial and have that finger on the record button.
Also included in the pro version: enabling signature cockamamie cadence. A must have when using Christopher Walken, Jay Z, Paul Harvey, et al.

An app that is scissors. I always need scissors and never have any.
This is my favorite post in this thread.
-
SonicPoopApp
point this phone at someone at it will send subsonic waves into their bowels and make them poop themselves.
-
GimmeAHotDogApp
Push a button on the phone and the nearest hotdog will appear in your hand.
BEWARE: this could be a hotdog from the trash, in someone's mouth, a basketball player who showboats too much, etc...
-
IsThisWaterApp?
Dip the phone in a glass of clear liquid and it will let you know if it is water or something else.
-
'Clams, have you given any thought to a combo app (of your two current apps) with which you could select a specific time and place, but then after you choose time/ place a second menu screen pops up with a list of area restaurants and their menus. Then if you see something you like you can order it from the app, and it will be ready an waiting for you when you arrive?

Press a button on the phone and point at any full sized meal. This will turn the meal into an appetizer. For example, point at a pizza and you get "Pauli's Pizza Popppers!", which are bite sized pasties filled with cheese, sausage, and you dip it into our zesty marinara sauce.
Example 2: Typical Tex-Mex combo meal of cheese enchiladas, tostagauc, beans, and rice gets transformed to: "Felina's Fiesta Flautas!" which are corn tortilla-ish tubes filled with cheese, beans, and rice which you can dip into dippers of red sauce or our fan favorite sour cream-amole dip!.

celebrity autotune app.
I like how well thought out this was. 3 :tacos:
Gonna win 'em all!

SonicPoopApp
point this phone at someone at it will send subsonic waves into their bowels and make them poop themselves.
Prepare to be sued. I already created a SonicPoopApp but you point it at Sonic food and it turns it into poop and then you sue Sonic because they served you poop.

You're gonna have a helluva time writing up that lawsuit when you are hovering over the john all day.
