He said Freddy didn't play last year. So does that mean Freddy has 3 yrs to play, or still just 2 years?

This was the subject of bunch of speculation last year.  He played in more than one game for Dade....no one could provide anything close to a reasonable explanation for doing that, except for some sort of defense against Frank/Art "tampering" with Freddy before official communications and releases were handled with FIU AD and Thomas.

I think Frank just means that Freddy's piece of crap handful of games with Dade don't count as really being in game shape and up to D1 speed.

I am like 97% sure Freddy only has two years left.

he 100% has 2 years to play 2 years.

leaving miami-dade was not the plan, and was not at all in asprilla's or kstate's best interest.  it happening was a fuckup all around.

Frank has gotta be setting ground work for rationalizing to retards why Freddy isn't putting up all-american stats in Nov this year.

Here is what I want to know....why the eff did they play him instead of simply redshirting him.  The explanation cannot be that they simply "mumped up."  There has to be more to it...there is too much at stake with this stuff, correct?

he played because leaving wasn't the plan, the plan was to play.  left due to conflicts with the miami-dade staff.

Former Sun-belt conference freshman of the year and third team all conference that year.  Plays the 4/5, prolly not a "true center" at the high major level, but a solid post.  Transferred out of FIU after his first year when his coach got canned and IsiahThomas was brought in.  Burned a year of eligibility at Juco (Datde) and came here....he's a Miami Tropic AAU kid (Shakey Rodriquez).  He suppose to be able to score.

He'll most likely be going against JVB in a 3-2 system at ISU. How would you compare? JVB didn't get too much playing time last year after a injury during the Hy-Vee CyHawk showdown.

Well, to hear the other players talk about him, they seem to suggest that Freddy can score as well as Curtis Kelly, that he really is quite aggressive offensively.  I have no idea if he can defend or how good of rebounder he is, but Art Alvarez likens him to Bill Walton, which means he's probably more like a Voskul.

He's better than KU fans think (most don't know he exists, just like they didn't know Curtis Kelly or Deni existed).  If half the tales are true, we'll be better with Freddy than we would have been with Sutton...but it wasn't an "either or." ....just saying that those who say we'll be down because we lost Sutton aren't even considering the addition of Freddy.

completely different players.  jvb would shoot over asprilla all game long.  asprilla would abuse jvb down low.  can't imagine martin would ever have asprilla guard jvb.  don't know how stupid your new 'neck is.

So this kinda confirms that your opinion is that at the Major level that Freddy isn't a 5?  I am a bit confused though.  If you don't put Freddy on a guy like JVB, who does that leave?  Curtis I guess?

Again, I have NO idea about Freddy defensively....just trying to set my own expectations here.

he's a 4 or a 5.  don't think it matters much.

re. jvb, just don't think asprilla is close to long/quick enough to extend on him.  samuels would be a natural to guard him, and kelly did a surprisingly (surprising to me at least) good job of guarding step out 4s last year.  either would do much better.  keep in mind that jvb is basically just a 3 point shooter and nothing more.

i expect asprilla to be pretty bad defensively.  so bad that it really limits his minutes early on.  i'd hope that he'll progress to adequate by mid-season.  which is probably about all he'll ever be.

What is your predicto on minutes between Freddy versus JHR?  Is it a "versus" thing?  I can't imagine a scenario when both are the floor together, so I was thinking it was a "versus" thing.  :dunno:

I am out of my element here, just curious.

keep in mind that i hate jhr.  asprilla = 15-20.  jhr = 0.

other than that kelly & samuels will get 20+, i don't think anyone knows how it will shake out.

Can't wait to see Curtis Kelly go against Freshman Jordan Railey. Ugh, its going to be ugly.
