My wife has done this, twice.  The first time, I just set it on its side and let it air out.  It worked the next day.  The second time it did not work.

no, took it to a dude that put a new hard drive in.  But I got windows 7 instead of Vista and Microsoft's new Anti virus for free.

When did it happen?  I've spilled stuff on my keyboard before, it didn't work for a while until it dried for a couple days then it went back to normal.

It's a shame that your car was broken into and your laptop was stolen out of it.  Great that you had comprehensive coverage, however.
