I know some don't think he's ready to contribute but the coaching staff actually thinks he's probably the most ready of any of the freshman.
except i'd change "probably" to "unquestionably". not that being more big-12 ready than southwell and williams is that hard.

ya the probably is stupid to even include in the sentence. i will say i probably do agree with him though based upon the limited time i've had to work with the incomers.

irving got his minutes and "contributed" last year, does anyone really think it's crazy to think spradling will get his chance to help us out a bit? he's throwing up 5,000 shots a day, running through Greenawalt workouts and studying the playbook; he'll be as ready as he can be come season time. best news i've heard is that he gained 15 lbs already, which definitely increased his meaningful PT viability.
pretty badass that martin can prove that he doesn't hate white people and get a pretty decent player at the same time.

he also plays at the position w/ the most opportunities for minutes.

Is everyone not depressed about Denis leaving? You'd think this guy was the Professor or something.

I am VERY excited about Will Spradling, even though he doesn't fit our typical criteria for an impact guard.
He's a true gym rat and will end up being the kind of solid guard that you see on those high quality mid-major bracket buster type teams...and I mean that in the best possible way. If his old man were a crook instead of EMAW, he'd be our Brady Morningstar (and if his elderly sister would bang Emanuel Lamur, he'd be our Tyrel Reed).

Do not want. Want Denis back.
