wouldn't mind getting interested in UFC.  can you tell me the difference between UFC and MMA and which one you prefer.  do MMA guys fight in an octagon like UFC guys?  is UFC always on Spike?  where can i find MMA?

think about it this way--MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) is the name of the sport and UFC is an organization within that sport.  There are also other MMA organizations like Strikeforce and the WEC.   They all fight inside of some sort of cage.  the UFC can be found free mostly on Spike, usually "Ultimate Fight Nights" that often feature fighters from their current season of Ultimate Fighter.  Occasionally its also on VS., there is one coming up on August 1st at 8pm.  For PPV's i'd suggest going to a bar if you can't find a group to pitch in for it. Almost all Buffalo Wild Wings show it.   Or you can download it on bittorrent usually the next day.

ha fair comment.  i'm informed on the sport and catch most of the major events but thats pretty much where it ends.
