Title: New Demo
Post by: CHONGS on June 26, 2010, 10:51:12 AM
Hey guys, as you all well know I am a member of the glam band Shredder and the Turtles.  You might have also noticed that I have not been posting as much lately.  Well that is because we have retooling the workings of the band.  We had a large scuffle a few months ago regarding the musical direction we wanted to take.  I t was my opinion that while glam rock is definitely on the rise, I am getting tired of pure glam.  There was a lot of fighting, but eventually my vision won out and we have titled away from pure glam to what I am coining fantasy-glam.  It has a much more organic sound and features a lot of piano work (we were lucky to find a good one!).

Anyway we have finished recording the central piece to our album (which a story of discovery in an ancient earth past filled with elves, druids, and paladins).  It is still a bit long and probably needs to cut a bit for radio play, but here it is anyway:

Comments?  Be as critical as necessary.  My vocals will probably get a bit more polished as I get more practice (I did not so vocals before, but our singer left during our directional issues).

Can I join the band, my nickname for the band could be bebop or rocksteady and I could beatbox.

I really enjoyed the Peruvian and Irish folk influences, but the ending is a little abrupt. Drum work is very good and you could be the Latin Adam Lambert.  :surprised:
