Oatmeal raisin cookies are fantastic. If you don't like them you're a child and it's time to grow up jfc.

Is there anything more disappointing then walking up to a platter of cookies and seeing only the oatmeal raisin cookies are left? Every time it's the oatmeal raisins that are left over and get thrown out at the end of the conference.
I like oatmeal, and I like raisins, but neither has any business being in a cookie.

I just ate one last night! My wife mad a batch of oatmeal raisin and a batch of oatmeal chocolate chip, both great. I love a good monster cookie, but a lot of places struggle to make them correctly.

Love monster. Tough to get the ratios correct.

Is there anything better? Everyone else fighting over the gross cookies leaving all those amazing oatmeal raisins for me!

i have no raisin to eat disgusting cookies. it’s a hard no from me, dog.
i do make incredible monster cookies. a lot of people don’t know that monster cookies are good for you but they’re basically just large multivitamins. peanut butter = good for you, oats = good for you, other things in them = good for you.

They are great. I love to wash a couple of them down with a mug of coffee for an afternoon snack.

The best cookie. However, GTFOOH with your heavy cinnamon. Very light or no cinnamon at all for me.

Do you dip them in ranch too?

All these years SF has been hiding his anti-cinnamonite ideology. You think you know someone…
-
Fun fact. I put cinnamon in my morning oatmeal. :driving:

Orc is a great way to describe these disgusting abominations

the specifics of steps 4-7 are essential imo.
2 cups flour
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
1 cup butter, softened
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
3 cups oats
1 cup raisins
1 - whisk dry ingredients (flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and salt) together in a large bowl
2 - in a separate mixing bowl, beat butter, white sugar, and brown sugar together with an electric mixer until creamy (2-3 mins). beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla.
3 - gradually mix in dry ingredients from step 1, then add oats and raisins, and continue mixing until thoroughly incorporated.
4 - cover the bowl and chill the dough in the refrigerator for at least 1 hr
5 - preheat oven to 375; grease two cookie sheets (i like to use melted coconut oil). take two small bowls and put some water in one, and about 2 TB of white sugar in the other.
6 - roll the dough into (24) balls and place on the cookie sheets. take a fork and dip into the water bowl and sugar bowl, then flatten each cookie, re-wetting and re-sugaring the fork as necessary.
7 - bake for 8-10 minutes (until light golden brown around the edges, and the centers are nearly set), switching rack positions halfway through. allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
if the batch of cookies is intended for a group of nerds, you can swap out the fork for a hand shaped object. then your ORCs will be branded with the white hand of saruman

And cinnamon raisin oatmeal is the best oatmeal, so why not the cookie?

Not sure honestly. Maybe I had an overly cinnamony one one time and decided i didn't like it much in cookies. My morning oatmeal is just oats, blueberries and a bit of cinnamon. No sugar or honey. Maybe i don't like sweet and cinnamon things? :dunno:
