I read the Aerizona-Texas Tech post-game thread on Reddit. Zona fans ignoring us and focused on Houston home game next Saturday. Another classic trap game.
-
We might very much lose but we're playing fantastic, wouldn't surprise me if we win by 7+ points
-
Their metrics TERRIFY me

Their metrics TERRIFY me
More ball movement than Ron Jeremy.
-
Need to hit 3s.
-
Back to just chucking 3s.
-
Dang that goaltend reversal was terrible
-
This goal tend review at next dead ball has to change.

Yeah there should be an extra possession arrow or something.
-
That was literally the most absurd call I've seen since the no-call travel at the end of the KU game.
-
Coleman is a really "crafty" defender. He uses his hands and influences plays in ways most people don't
-
Make 3 or 4 threes from here and we win.
-
CJ, you got to make that.
-
Offense has just stalled. And they are in the bonus. Not good.
-

But wait there's more!

I love the way Dug plays so much (when he's on)
-
Arizona’s head coach looks like he should coach at Iowa State
-
We are really rough ridin' good
-

Ha ha I just texted my daughter that he's a generic ass head coach. The ISU guy at last has his right shirts and a worse than normal attitude
-
And imo the difference is Dug deciding he should be a primary scorer and not deferring to Hawkins playing with his back to the basket 25 feet away. (Shoutout clams)
-
We might lose! Shoot!
-
Is Tang a foul up 3 guy?
-
Sheesh what a silly run
-
Couldn't watch but we were 1-19 from 3? If so, that is insane.
-
What a win, really
-
Did we escape with a missed over and back or did he need to dribble to establish possession in front court?

Dug's bank shot game is the GOAT.

Guys I think we might just do this

I think he caught it across the line but I don't fully understand the rule
Regardless we deserved a full bucket that we were robbed of
-
i hope they're melting down about that (i 100% of the time have the rule wrong)
-
I guess we should probably just win out.
-
I'm sure some of our elite 8 teams went on a heater like this but damn we are lava hot
-
We look steady, reliable, capable, and confident. This team is fun basketball.
-
I guess we should probably just win out.
I can't even describe to you how confident I am that we will lose the next 2
-
It seems like Tang decided to just practice winning the Big 12 Tournament without realizing it might get us in the old fashioned way if we keep it going.

Lol yes

the position of the ball determines backcourt, not the player
it looked to be the right call
-

i think it’s tang that made that decision, not dug

Fair enough. Would love to see how his usage has changed over the course of the season
-
he is such a hard match up, like it’s really difficult to contain him. he can take anyone that’s not named gary “the glove” payton off the dribble.
i hope he can see a future here and spend the summer working on his perimeter shooting.
-
That was just a wild and fun win. Three weren't falling and couldn't close it out at the line, but just brought it home wiht grand larceny from Dug, Mobi and the quick hands boys. Just big entertainment.
-
I love this team
-
Mobi is a Jamar Samuel’s Dominique Sutton hybrid

I went back and looked. This is the longest winning streak in conference for a KSU MBB hoops team since 2012-2013.

Wyatt said a 6 game conf win streak has only happened 6 times for us: frank twice, oscar twice, and tang twice.

I don't blame him for being so wrong, he's getting up in years.
-
It at least sounds interesting. Wyatt is the biggest hype man for whoever is doing the thing right now.
-
Really glad we won, they are so hot
I guess we should probably just win out.

I am hoping they win 1 of them lol
-
I'd say the Tang mix is finally dialed in.

I hate that the thing that I'm commenting on first is negative because that was so fun, but how the hell did they overturn that goal tending? It's especially bullshit since we got the rebound and scored before they blew the whistle.

I do not believe the scenario shown is applicable to the situation last night.
-
I need to find the video. I have a 30-year veteran official reviewing it for us.
I know from my coaching days before there is a back court violation the player and the ball have to be established in front court.
The classic scenario is a player dribbling steps one foot in front court while the ball and his other foot are still in back court. Then, fans and some coaches lose their crap when his front court foot comes back to back court. It's not over and back because both feet and the ball never got establish in front court.
I am reading a ball played in from out of bounds has no front or back court status, but I can't find what makes the ball status change.
Last night the ball was thrown in by Arizona from the baseline, caught by a Cat who clearly had both feet in front court then passed to a player clearly in the back court.

What i saw was Dug catching the ball and establishing possession with both feet in the front court. Then he threw it to Max who was established in the backcourt and Max caught it before he was established in the front court. Backcourt violation.

Agree. It seemed like a no brainer call.

The player was not established in the front court, but the ball never entered the back court.
-
What I saw was the KSU Kats beating Arizona Cats asses even after getting 4 points taken off the board by the dumbass refs so who gives a crap if they blew an over and back call in KSU Kats favor!
-

lol

Has there ever been a guard better than Dug McDaniel at using the backboard?

Nope. Especially when only touching it with one hand!

Lol yes
alright now back to work. 4-1 finish down the stretch coming right up!

Could still make it in with 18 or 19 wins, right?
-
No more regular season lossess and two or three wins in KC, and maybe.
-
A win out and one in KC would make me confident. We have some very nice wins, just need to stack some more of them.
-
Prior to last night's game, the announcers were viewing it as a must win, but Lunardi disagreed and said a win would "keep K-State on the path of making the tourney"
I interpret that to mean that if we win out in the regular season and snag 1-2 wins in the Big 12 tourney, we'd be more likely than not to be in.
-
Yeah, I felt winning either game basically slightly helps us, winning both would've been huge, losing both slightly hurts. Definitely gotta win out or at least be 4-1. Then probably 1 maybe 2 in KC.
-
No at large team in the last three years has received a bid with more than 14 total losses. If you view 14 losses as the max, you have to go 5-0 down the stretch or win the B12 tournament.
-
I think if we win out the season, we are in.
-
i like how people are seriously talking about going 5-0 after these last 2 games. equally as funny as the people talking about the 9 different things that needed to happen the last week or 2 of football for the cats to get in the big 12 title game.
-
most likely: beat arizona st, ucf, and colorado at home. lose at cinci and lose at home against iowa state
finish season at 16-15, 10-10
-
next most likely: beat iowa state and cincinnati
lose to: colorado, arizona state, ucf

Whoa whoa, not saying I think we are winning out. Saying that if we do so, I think we make the tournament.

Agreed. I don't think anybody expects it, just stating what they believe is required. I expect 3-2 followed by an optimistic 2-1 in the B12 followed by K-State trying to tell everyone we somehow got screwed when we're left out.
-
If we lose 3 more games we fa sho ain't getting in.
-
Guys, we just go on a 7 game losing streak. Now hear me out, but then starting with the Big 12 tournament we go on a 7 game winning streak. That sounds pretty good to me. Then Regular season means nothing.

Make it a 10 game winning streak and you got a deal.
