Title: Need input from HKWIQ'ers - Key West Travel thread

Wife and I are planning a vacation btwn Xmas and New Years. 

1. is this a good time to go there?

2. what area is the best part of the island to stay?

3. good activities to do on a 3 day vacation?  I want to do the Tortugas tour, but am interested in what others have liked.

you want to stay on the north end of duval st. the westin is ideal. there are some others right around it though and the place below has some decently priced smaller type places if you like that instead. do not stay anywhere on roosevelt. you'll be out in bfe w/ crappy hotels and have to drive anytime you want to do anything.
