Title: Worst first half you have ever seen?
Post by: Purple Derpathy on November 16, 2024, 07:41:06 PM
Deserves it's own topic. Two weeks to prepare, night game at home, and against the most mediocre winning team in a soft ass conference.

I mean this is clearly one of the worst halves I can recall. I don’t think it has much to do with the Houston game or bye week, though. We seem prone to some bad streaks this season, likely due to lack of veteran leadership.

We have old guys all over the field, most of which are in at least year 3 of Klieman.

I am in my 70's and I can recall halfs as bad but not when we supposed to be a decent team and favored...

Well I don't know if I should feel better or worse here.

1st half 2004 vs Fresno State.  We got throttled, and it was a shock to the system coming off the Dr Pepper.

I saw that one. Not as upsetting. Frustrating cause Sproles had to live it in person but nowhere near this abomination

OU 2015 is my personal worst. As one of my friends who we talked into getting a ticket said. "I'd like a refund, I was promised a football game, and all I got was an Oklahoma track meet"

On TV this is also mine.

In person — probably Alamo Bowl vs UCLA  (2014 season)

BYU this year

Yikes. That was bad but I thought it was just a fluke of oddities.....then again maybe it wasn't. Definitely top 5.

I mean, sure, but why is Arizona State mediocre in this scenario? They have the dude who will be the Big 12 offensive player of the year and if they win their last two games they're going to Arlington.

You don't think Shadeur is going to win that?

I don't see how you can look up and down the big 12 results this season and not think it is very plausible

Is this weird?

Health issues?

Or realized his friends that are coordinators aren’t cutting it?

yes, very strange.  Has to be health issues . . . hopefully something temporary and not long-term / debilitating

He very well might, maybe even probable, but Skatttebo is 3rd in the country in all purpose yards and Sanders' stats are really similar to Josh Hoover's, it's actually wild how statistically similar they are.

There's some kind of tragedy going on with his family. The 3maw guys said it on their last two podcasts but didn't say what the tragedy is or what family member it was with.
