Alright kittens and cats, now that we know our 2024 Kansas State adoracats, who is getting the PT? Where? I'll go first.
PG: McDaniel, Castillo
SG: Hausen, Max Jones
SF: CJ Jones, Ikegwuruka, Rich
PF: Hawkins, N'guessan, Manning
C: Onyenso or Achor
Redshirt: Fall
-
CJ is the 2. Hawkins the 3 and Achor the 4. Nguessan the backup 5.

Could definitely see CJ at the two, he gets downhill in a hurry.

With the hedge that I haven't seen most of them play, I go:
PG -- McDaniels, Costillo
SG -- CJ Jones, Hausan, Costillo and Max Jones. There's lots of possibilities here depending on matchups.
SF -- awkins, Max Jones, CJ Jones, Rich and the juco guy
PF -- Achor, N'G, Manning and Rich
Center -- Onsenyo, N'G, Achor
I, too, think Fall is a possible RS, as is the juco guy.
I can see us play a three-guard lineup at times with Dug and Castillo on the floor with one of the other SGs and Achor and Hawkins in. Or perhaps four guards with Onsenyo holding down the middle.

do we really think kids are willing to redshirt anymore in this era? hard to see a kid transfer in the portal and then redshirt.
-
I don't see the point in redshirt when basically everyone can play 4 years and then grad transfer for a 5th
-
I don't see the point of the redshirt when it's unlikely any player stays in one place by the end of their career

Guys its crazy that we paid this much money for a player, KU can't even pay what we did for a player for their football stadium...

Grad transfers are no longer a thing. Those were used so you didn't have to sit when transferring, they didn't afford you an extra year of eligibility. It was and still remains 5 years to play 4. That only got extended by medical hardships and covid.

If anything, nil makes redshirts more appealing. If you're not going to play, why not get paid while doing so? If you're a person on the fringe of a roster, whatever you're going to make in nil and in a year or two, revenue sharing, is far more than you'll make in the G league or playing in Mexico or South Korea

We have 4-5 bigs more college ready than Mr. fall. He might not redshirt, but I don't think it would be weird for him to do so. Colbert did so very recently, and on a roster much thinner than this one.
-
I don't really think many coaches are going to let million-dollar players redshirt if there's nothing to keep them from transferring the next year. If there can be contracts entered, then maybe.

I think he will play just not very much.
