What a magical voice
-
Legend. As much as I wouldn't wish "being forced to describe every snap of nubb football" on my worst enemy, I do hope GS calls every snap of nubb football this year and for several more years.

He's really good at it. I heard him a lot when I lived in Nebraska. Best wishes to him.

That’s horrible. It was a catastrophe when we lost him due to the media partner change. He’s tremendous.
-
his voice, enthusiasm and professionalism made him the gold standard for a team employed php guy for me.
IIRC his wife was on the TV side of WIBW so the split was incredibly complicated for him.

Effing sucks and that's a tough one. Truly hope for the best

Greg has been moved to palliative care. I’m saddened beyond belief to hear this.
-
Rest easy king
-
He was a great one. In an alternate universe KSU got their crap together on media rights and Greg stayed with the cats until the very end.
From my vantage point, he lived a pretty darn good life.
-
Knew him and his brothers at K-State. A tremendous person. I agree with other posters that his exit from broadcasting for the cats was shitty, and ever since I treat Wyatt like a stepdad - I don’t like him but he didn’t do anything wrong other than he wasn’t my real dad.

As an official old fart now, I've realized that one of the key indicators as to the decency of a person is how they treat people they don't need. By that measure, Greg was one of the best. He was certainly a contrast to some of the other media around K-State in the late 90s/early 00s - he was never a big timer and always made time to talk to young kids just starting out. I'm sure he was that way after he went to Nebraska as well.
Too bad more people aren't like him...

One of my good friends was a barber. In May, 2013 I went to see him for a haircut, and he told me that would be the last time he would be cutting my hair - he had just received a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer. I tried to see him in July, his son said that my friend didn't want to see anyone, and was living as miserably as one could imagine. My friends son said that pancreatic cancer is extremely cruel in its effects. My friend died by early August - he didn't even last 3 months. Pancreatic cancer is as bad as it gets.

Damn RIP

Today the call came.
Greg, we were friends long ago. First by radio, then by mutual acquaintance. I hope you’re at peace and travel quickly to the next life.
Damn… I’m so sad.
-
Very sad. He was my favorite Kstate pbyp guy.
Mitch got ridiculous, and while Wyatt is good, Greg was better.
