-
goddamnit captain, answer the rough ridin' question.
-
We had to promise UT all of the good recruits from our camps during the realignment to keep them in the big12.
-
canceled?
i PM'd meek about 10 days ago asking if he knew any names for the elite camp. he's been big-timing me on it.
-
let's people know who we are in on. Had to cancel to keep secret.
-
for the love of god, someone find out if, when & who.
-
is the elite camp the same as the overnight camp? or is that for motor-impaired local kids as well like all the other ones?

While ISU may have us beat in the actual sports reporting department, we absolutely own them in sophmoric and inane Twitter content. It's a trade off.

Lots of overlap with practice facilities, etc., but they're hoping to bring it back next year.

No elite camp.
Hey JMart, while you're over here doing the job for free that others are getting paid to not do, can you make a couple calls and tell us if Adam Davis really did suffer a career ending injury.
TIA

Previous elite campers include: lots of good recruits who we signed or came close to signing.

It's just 1 more opportunity to get high-level recruits in your town, on your campus, and in your arenas/gyms. No we didn't have a 100% success signing rate with all the prospects we brought in for those in the past but I don't think the added exposure ever hurt in a particular player's recruitment. The elite camp also brings in a lot of quality HS, Prep, and JC coaches for instruction which can only help build/strngthen connections.
Based off JMart's comments, I have to wonder if the much talked about, but nothing done about yet proposed practice facility plays some role in not having the camp this year.

Pretty good insight on this one...

it should be noted that the NCAA's rule about hiring people connected to prospects to work camps has actually ended the practice of Elite Camps at some universities
i can see this.

This was actually the first thing I thought of when JMart posted. Our staff may certainly be lazy, but this contributed just as much/more to not having the elite camp.
I think we would be better off to have MCC host a AAU tournament as to have an elite camp.
-
Currie has done more work in regards to the practice facility in one year than Tim Weiser and Bob Krause did in 3.5 years, on top of being left with a host of financial issues, contract issues, lawsuits, and personnel issues by Weiser, Wefald and Krause . . . with the conference realignment issues on top of that.
I can tell you that right at this very moment the conference issues are putting a major crimp in the basketball practice facility process because of all the previously unscheduled meetings that have had to be called due to the conference shakeup. Those unscheduled meetings due to the conference issues have canceled other important meetings related to the practice facility.

obviously well worth it if the penalty money/increased tv revenues immediately go toward the facility.
i don't think the currie dissenters have much to work with right now, he's done a solid job his first year.
