We took up a lot of space in the cigars thread talking about Utah fans. I think we're definitely going to need a master Utah thread, they seem to be uniquely shitty fans. Instead of using the cigars thread to point out all of the weird and shitty things they say and do, I'm going to start one here.
Homeboy thinks an hbcu is a juco.

Also looking at the twitter accounts of these three podcasters Utah fans are still firmly convinced that the Big 12 is going to be easy and they'll cakewalk through. I hope Baylor beats their asses, of course they won't but I'm gonna hope like hell it happens.
-
I don't think I could support Baylor but understand the sentiment. They are weirdos though and I think going from Pac to Big 12 I think they will get a more rude awakening in away games, I don't think any of those schools have dealt with a true hostile environment in a long time, and they are definitely cultivating it with how dismissive they are
-
Yeah, they're about to enter the meat grinder that is the Big 12, now featuring a plucky KU.
-
Yawn
Go utes
-
Their meteoric rise to relative prominence in the CFB world over the last 15 years or so made them extremely arrogant. Kind of understandable, but it'll be fun seeing them tussle it out against non-west coast teams. They'll be one of the best programs as long as Wittingham is there, but to say they'll moonwalk through the conference is way overboard.
-
They are like most of the newbies joining the Big XII. They don't know what they're in for. They may end up getting the residual hate for Texas next year. I remember the surprise WVU got when they joined. They bragged about all the conference championships they won and thought the Big XII was a blowover. They'll find out why we're called the HATEFUL EIGHT! :th_twocents:

Utah fan ingredients:
1. From Utah, which is gonna make them weird in general
2. Many are not Mormon, and not just non-Mormon, but ex-Mormon, which adds an element of spite and meanness to the residual Mormon weirdness
3. Their time in the Pac was extremely validating, probably over-validating
They’re basically like bizarro BYU, which is nice weird. Utah is mean, elitist weird.
It’s a very bizarre and odd mix.
Edit: add that they think they’re superior to BYU, especially with the PAC success, and it infuriates them that no one can see how great they are. I think they hate BYU way more than BYU hates them.
-
I mean, they are superior to BYU, but that isn't saying much.

Nah, BYU fans say "Bless their heart" (but in the mormon way whatever that is) anytime someone asks them about Utah fans.
-
i honestly thought they joined the pac like 4 years ago
-
I’m not really familiar with the Fallout canon but I feel like Utah will be home to a new American empire after the nuclear winter.
-
Knees are weird. Utah is something much worse.
-
I find it offensive their basketball team is named the Jazz. Smh.
-
Their football program and coach are very likeable. I like the way they play and games there look fun. I always cheer for them against BYU and will again after this year. I
t's wild how awful their online fans are, it's like they take pride in being shitty. That podcast calling Jackson State a juco is insane the dude who said it had a pretty wack apology, the old dude is leaning hard on the victimhood. I now understand why NBA players are always getting into it with Jazz fans and they constantly talk about how bad their fans are.

Having a horrible internet fanbase in your conference is fun. It's the main reason I miss Nebraska.
-
that's true
-
I've had mixed feelings about Utah ever since I watched them beat Alabama 31-17 in the 2009 Sugar Bowl in a dingy motel room in Marion, KS.

This guy looks and sounds like a first class POS for sure, probably deserves all the smoke he's getting, but let's counterpoint this.
Colorado fans don't really have any room to be indignant, like, at all, seeing as how for many many years now they're referred to Kansas State as KjSU implying it's a juco level academic institution.
Just sayin'.

I enjoy the mental image here of the 2009 Sugar Bowl being played in a hotel room.
-
I liked the Gary Barnett buffs and their attitude you need heels and faces that’s how this is supposed to work and Gary loved being a bad boy.

This outing of Utah fans has been the biggest surprise (for me) of this realignment cycle.
I’ve lived here a long time now. I was sure that Utah was the normal-ish school and BYU was the weirdo, overinflated self image school. And I was 100% convinced that BYU would be the new conference villain. They probably still will be in time, but Utah sure wants it right now. Maybe they both end up the villains. And maybe they’re both the weird school and I just didn’t see it because normal-ish for Utah isn’t normal anywhere else.

I don't think most of the outrage is from Colorado fans. Also there's a wide gulf of difference from making fun of K-State for our lack of admission standards and going on a podcast and saying that Shedeur hasn't done anything other that "follow his daddy from a juco."
I'd say that I'm confused about the vitriolic level of anger from some people about Colorado after one game, but I absolutely get why people like these three are so mad.

Baylor up at half :surprised:

Baylor up at half :surprised:
they’re going to cost me my 4-team parlay

Same.

Oh Baylor
-
Oh Baylor
The Baptists had their chance, but threw it away
-
Could've been quite the win that would've improved the Big 12, but at least this doesn't hurt, given Utah coming in. but still, not great
-
No coffee for the Bears.
-
What the eff was that?
-
Pass interference?
-
Pass interference?
Yeah. It's like the college basketball ref theory of "let 'em play" at the end of the game.
-
Pass interference?
The entire last 3 minutes of that football game got progressively weirder
-
