Title: 2023 is or is not the year we achieve total conference dominance?
Post by: Pete on July 15, 2023, 11:09:35 AM
I am leaning toward us crushing everyone in our path this year. The offense could be great. The defense will probably be well coached and sound, but may not be a big play defense (as happens when you lose a first round DL).

My prediction is that we lose two conference games, and go on to beat UT in the championship game to win our second conference title in a row.

it feels a bit like '97 to me. a solid o'line with two nfl dudes in front of an all-conference nfl qb.  and a potentially nasty defense, particularly the front seven; all returning for the '98 season.  couple that with excellent coaching.  yes, king felix is gone.  but khalid duke was just as good before being injured.  matlack is coming off injury as well. and there's some nastiness at the nose guard position.  the missiouri game sets the stage.

There is a 50% chance we lose in Austin and that's it. We would obviously avenge that loss in Arlington.

IDK about crushing but we'll be highly entertaining, go 10-2, win the confy vs Tejas, in a revenge game (the other loss will be a WTF one) and to have Big 12 solidarity, we go to Peach Bowl and actually win vs. Clemson to have our first 12 win season.

Really, I wanna win the conference so we can say we are the only team to win the Big 12 in all its forms.

I think there will be plenty of chances to win a 14 team Big 12.

Also gE will meltdown and claim we won't win another game the rest of the season.

Yes, because of a head scratcher loss or two. It happens.  That’s why the name of the game is just getting into the conference champs game and seeing what happens.

Oh absolutely. But to win one

a) the OG 12 teams w/ CCG
b) the 10 w/o CCG
c) the 10 w/ CCG
d) the 14 w/ CCG and 2 departing

The last one is IMO pretty coveted IYAM

with preseason all americans at nearly every skill position, I don’t see any way that this team doesn’t run the table including averaging the sugar bowl loss to alabama

I was going to make fun of 'clams for his little flub here, but no! Beating Alabama in the Sugar Bowl would indeed bring the series even at 1:1--or "average" it, if you will.

I don't see any L's on the schedule tbh. We also haven't played any games yet so I wouldn't expect there to be any L's on the schedule yet. Do with that what you will.
