the thing is, every thing gets a lot harder in conference play. these guys have been beating up cupcakes for the last couple months and it’s going to take them some time to understand what b12 basketball is.

gotta limit the second chance points
-
We are playing well
-
13 minutes left, tang really needs to manage the bench
-
Both teams made 1 of the first 19 three point attempts, holy crap.
-
Real talk: is this team just too woke to win? I've heard that theory bandied about by respected minds.

Should have fouled as soon as they crossed the line
-
20 wvu turnovers
-
Just keep making these free ones
-
I'll take it
-
How could you hate on this team? We are good
-
GTFO Huggins and your ugly trash basketball.
-
Was a special moment seeing tang dedicate this win to wacky!
-
I won $105 tonight thanks to Tang. I never had a doubt!
-
That was the most JYC bball game I’ve seen since Frank left and i absolutely loved it.

These guys are fun to watch. NaeQuan has huge JYC energy plus some actual touch with the ball. He said his new years resolution was to gain weight. Southwest KS beef producers need to send him a prime rib every week in the mail. Keyontae is really fun to watch. Marquis, etc.
-
It’s disgustingly gross and awesome at the same time. God bless this non coaching staff that just recruits their asses off and rolls out the ball!

Gotta admit this is really the first game I’ve watched (and I wasn’t even able to turn it on until the 2nd half) incredibly fun team to watch. I hope they keep up the JYC attitude, I’ve missed that style of ball
-
Tomlins missed the layup but his move from the top of the key with a quick first step and deadly crossover to get to the rim shows you how nasty he could be.
-
He’s the best JUCO recruit we’ve had in 30 years! Prove me wrong!
-
they have to work on defensive rebounding. free throws/shooting will improve on its own.

saw that. Then he flexed his 'ceps and yes, he definitely needs some biscuits.
the rebounding is frustrating.
Pretty fun to watch though, will make it a habit

''I said this to the team, `How do you miss a one-footer? How do you continue to miss that many free throws,''' Huggins said. ''The bad news is that this is probably one the easiest places to play in the league.''
What the?? :curse: (ftp://:curse:). Greg, get the word out...

Can you imagine being the fan of a team with a coach who constantly trashes his players, blames them for his failures, and thinks that screaming at them constantly is a sign of being super intense. Good thing I’m a Cat fan and our coaches no longer do dumb/tired crap like this.

No. I cannot imagine being a Kentucky fan.

Oh no you don't get to jump on board the Tang bandwagon with that false narrtive squeak's boi. This is for those of us who knew Oscar was a mistake from day 1 because we understood he had no idea how to build and sustain a program. It's for those of us who continued to root for the Cats, go to games and desperately tried to overlook the dorky loser ssqueaking from the sidelines. It's for us who constantly lobbied for change only to hear the same losery refrain "who can we get who's better?" even as the dorky loser oversaw the three worst seasons of K-State basketball since Gardner built the program after WWII.
It's those fans who get to lift a celebratory mug for their foresight and understanding the need to hire a coach who, as Pullen observed, would build a culture.
-
I mean, as soon as they lose a game those 2 will be right back at it
-
EVERYBODY LOVE EVERYBODY

Not on the bench, as far as I could see.
Also, I haven’t found anything saying he would be out.
Hoping he has Southwest/ KCI problems and that’s all.
-
EESPN+ announcers said he was injured in practice Friday. He was held out against WVU but injury not thought to be serious. Need him back asap because Ish just hurts the eyes.

Some of us aren’t whiny little bitches and root for the uni, not the coach. Get over yourself. oscar left with two Big 12 titles, an elite 8, ended the streak, and is the all time winningest coach at K-State. I’m happy we moved on and I appreciated those successful years as well.

All time winningest coach, lmao.

The point of the false narrative went over your head, to the surpise of no one. But you were a diehard Oscar defender even has he led us thru a third-straight historically shitty season.
-
All time winningest coach, lmao.
Speaks to quantity of games with longer seasons and padding won-loss with cupcake scheduling -- such as te non-con he bequeathed Tang thiss year. By winning percentage, Oscar's not top 5.
-
I've never been so happy to see a guy foul out.
I said the same damn thing when it happened, felt bad for a second, then knew it was for the better.

Please please please no, can we not do this? Please. Just let those two be, it's fine.

That mistake brought us 2 big 12s and an elite 8. I was not happy at all with the hire and he’s very uncool, but he had some of the best highs of any coach we’ve ever had, and I’m thankful for that. Unlike some of you unappreciative dorks.

Amen. Some people are so weird. SMDH!
-
Like seriously, you’re mad that some fans chose the option to not bitch and whine for 10 years of their life, over some dork on the sidelines, because we enjoyed watching our school play basketball. Get a life!
-
Just love these Cats, guys! It will be rewarding!

I'm basking in the glory of ThunderDunks and velvety / buttery smooth jumpers.
-
can't imagine emawzified and these other dorks cheering for the cats during the assbury and neckbrace years. those were the years i fell in love with cat basketball. pure, unconditional love. i've heard if you can't cheer for your team when they're 0-10, you don't deserve to cheer for them when they're 10-0. that's a little extreme. but one thing is for sure, if you can't cheer for your team when they're in the elite 8, then you don't deserve to cheer for them at any time.
-
I was at K-State from 2003-2008. So yeah, I earned my stripes.
-
I like fun basketball and dislike not fun basketball. I am also maximally skeptical of anyone pushing the word family if they aren’t my family. Beware the emotional grift. It always leads to worse times.

I was in Bram for Asbury's final game against KU when a pissed-off crowd wa loudly calling for his firing and at KC Municipal when Wooley's team got blown out by UMKC. I was also in
Ahearn when Blackman and bros blew out KU 96-69. So yeah, I've cheered for well-coached K-State basketball and badly coached Cats hoops. Thankfully, we're back on the well-coached side again. I can't imagine dorky loser fan understanding that, and that dorky loser fn sure as eff doesn't get to invent a narrative that the fans of the dorky looser who set K-St ate hoops for years by insisting "w can't get anyone better" are somehow the true deserving fans.
I was a dumbass who was eternally optimistic with those badly coached teams, just as I was always hopeful Oscar wasn't the dorky loser and could turn the page. But no, he is a lifelong dorky loser who lost any connection with his teams when coach The Flush graduated.
-
No one hated Asbury or Wooly the way they hate oscar. People would hate oscar no matter how much he won. Wins and losses are irrelevant. People are addicted to hating oscar. They're completely irrational about it. And they can't ever let it go.
-
I think you could count on one hand how many people on this board unconditionally hated oscar. Most of us enjoyed 2012-2019
-
Did anyone else see the exchange between Tang and Nowell after Nowell threw a no-look pass in the 2nd half to i think Tomlin that was stolen? In a timeout, Tang was calling him out about it and Nowell said he didn't do it, to which Tang replied "yes you did." It's accountability like that that has made Nowell a better player and ensure he continues to improve. No chance he waves off a play in the last second this year to go hero ball. Coaching is a beautiful thing.

that's true. and yup they are totally irrational about it. who cares as long as he gets dubs. which he got plenty of when he won 2 big 12 championships and took us to an elite 8.
-

I don't think any of the posters on this blog have given oscar much thought since Tang took over. The only reason his name even comes up is when people take the stunted and wacky troll bait and I say that as someone who has been guilty of taking the bait.
I guess what I'm saying is, those 2 are pretty much the only reason anyone still even mentions his name. I think all but 2 bloggers on this blog are very happy with focusing on the present and the future and couldn't give two shits about the old regime
-
yeah, everyone else has moved on. everyone except some chodes who turned this thread which was about the cats, into a thread about themselves.
maybe it’s true what they say- you don’t always have to have two n’s in your name to be a kenn.

This was before the trolling started in this thread:

Maybe I read too much into things, but I still see it in lots of threads. Like when HugeCat thought that Nowell should be benched because he's a oscar player and therefore won't be as good as a Tang player.
People would sound way less crazy if they could keep their oscar hating out of their Tang love.
-

Do you blackout every time Emawzifried posts with his manic behavior or are you just selective with what you take in on this subject? He brought up oscar. He’s a psycho about him. He’s a clown and nobody on this board ever said we couldn’t do better than oscar, so he’s bringing up dumb crap from social media and trying to put it here. God speed and good luck with The Who gets to root for their school and who doesn’t “narrative” because some of us still gave a crap even when we had an unlikeable coach. Children!

Holy crap. Think about how much zifried cried about Ish on here. He’s such a petulant child.
-
there is an endless amount of oscar hate in pretty much ever ksu blog online, and not enough appreciation for his 2 big 12 championships and elite 8 run.
us true kstate mbb fans had to listen to whining during each of the 2 big 12 championships, as well as his elite 8 run. so, no. they absolutely do not deserve to root for kansas state basketball.
-

imagine being probably one of the oldest posters on here apparently, and being a neurotic whiny crybaby. very low confident and dorky behavior.

just looked at the box score (didn't watch the game). does JYC involve getting outrebounded by 14?

This never happened. I disliked Frank on his way out and the way he handled it. I stuck around for a 5th year of college just to broadcast Beasley and his team. I could have been done in 3 and a half years. Keep trying tho!
-
let’s get back to talking about the cats. as a real cat fan who watches the cats, I know that they would prefer that we discuss them and not our recent history of shitty coaches.
-
Agree with OP we should get back to talkin about them cats. I for one am really enjoying what I like to call all the Viagra dunks (I call them Viagra dunks because they cause me to get a rock hard boaner)
-
viagra dunks, man that is a good nickname for this team
-
Absolutely. Also works because these guys jump so high when they go up for dunks I think sometimes they (accidentally) hit their dongs on the rim
