Ladies and germs, I recently tried both Coke and Pepsi. No, really! On account of my Mormon background, I never drank soda growing up. Soda is sometimes called "pop" by plains hicks, fyi.
Coke is so far superior to Pepsi that it's not even close. Is there anyone in the world who would drink a Pepsi over a Coke if given the opportunity for either?

I had a cherry coke this afternoon from Jimmy John's and it was delicious.
I will agree that coke > Pepsi but also the reverse in the diet soda game. Of course diet Dr pepper is better than all of them combined.

IBC Black Cherry bottles>Jattito’s Mandarin>any Orange/Grape>Cherry Coke>Pepsi>Sprite>>>>>>Coke
Some of the above can switch around depending on how it’s packaged, except IBC Black Cherry bottle is always at the top.

I pretty much only drink water and unsweetened tea on account of my kidneys proclivity for creating sharp tiny stones, but when I did drink soda pop Coke was far superior to Pepsi. Coke is for people with a more refined palate. It is less sweet and has a more subtle flavor profile. Pepsi is just sugary sweetness overload with no actual flavor.

I don't drink enough soda to dip my toe in the diet soda game, so I'll have to take your word for it. And truth be told, I'm not Mormon, either. Just have been outta the soda game for a long time. Diet soda scares me, tbh. As does phosphoric acid, t also bh.

I haven’t have a soda/pop, whatever the eff you want to call it, since about 3:30 this afternoon when I ordered a delicious Mtn Dew Baja Blast w/ my Taco Bell, because I enjoy drinking it.
That being said Coke is imo far superior to Pepsi based on the heartier and flavor and slight bitterness. Pepsi, on the other hand would most likely to be preferred by one who enjoys a sweeter, more sugary cola flavor profile.

Agree but Pepsi has a stranglehold on the mhk drink game. Go to aggieville and order ______ and coke. You probably think you’re actually getting coke. Guess what? You aren’t. It’s all Pepsi as far as the eye can see.

My wife is a Diet Coke fiend and has passed her crippling addiction on to our children. I am mostly horrified by it, but I chew ice and passed that to my oldest so oh well.
As far as daris’ point, my wife would never be caught dead ordering a Pepsi and she knows every place in manhattan we can order coke products.

Used to be a big time Pepsi guy but it just doesn't taste good to me anymore. I started cutting pop (or soda as some people call it) out a couple of weeks ago and it has been surprisingly easy. I still keep some cans of Coke around to mix with bourbon.
Diet pop is liquid poison, nobody should drink that crap. Just die fat and happy.

I haven't had a reg coke in years. coke zero mostly but I only really drink pop at the movies or on a road trip.

Coke is better than Pepsi but I stick to Dr Pepper (if I choose). Also I am fine with sprite/sierra mist if I want something little less sweet.
I never drink diet, cause IMO I feel like it's worse than regular ass *pick a product*
I also probably have a handful of any sort of pop in a month, it's just not something I consume a lot. So in general I never really care. I am glad that for whatever reason my body in general does not like sweet food/drink. It's a nice self defeat mechanism that once I hit a threshold it's like "yeah I'm done."

Yeah, WCP is better than cherry coke imo.
The best is getting regular Coke, Pepsi, Dr. P or Root Beer and adding your own cherry and vanilla flavoring at the fountain! Especially when it's cheap for the summer time deals!!

Let's not overlook the luxurious experience of Coke in a glass bottle. This also includes Mexican Coke.
True fact alert: my brother puts Coke in his coffee instead of sugar. At least, he used to. Not sure if he still does. Will confirm and revert.

The gas station in my hometown had a Pepsi machine that dispensed glass bottles. Probably went away around 1987, or so. Was very, very cool to get a pop out of that thing.

actually i think i prefer the zero-sugar version of Dr. Pepper (as opposed to Diet Dr. Pepper) it's just not available anywhere i shop regularly. costco has Coke Zero Sugar so i've been loading up on that recently.

Every now and then I will get a glass bottle of the Mexican Coca Cola (made with sugar cane, no HFCS) from the taqueria when I go out for tacos. I never drink pop outside of the occasional novelty like that.

Did a side-by-side taste test of Mexican Coke and HFCS Coke yesterday.
There is a very distinct difference.

My preferred soda is Coke Zero, so if they only have Diet Coke at the fountain I will do this same mix to get the Coke Zero taste. BTY, for guys who are too young to know what Diet Coke came from, it is the result of the new coke formula that everybody hated. But since they dropped the new coke and went back to the original formula they left the diet with the new coke formula. A few years back Coke finally figured out that they were missing sales by not having the original formula as a diet, hence Coke Zero.

You can thank ADM for replacing sugar with corn syrup around thirty-five years ago. Now you got to buy Mexican pop to get the true real sugar pop. In my younger days, I used to love getting a bottle of pop and taking a big swig and the fizz coming up my nose. I miss real pop.

ADM in the '70s fought for high sugar subsidies and got them every year which forced Soda companies to use their corn syrup. Here's some reading on it as to what was the reason to get soft drink companies to use their product.

I was a big time Pepsi drinker back then and saved enough of those stupid points to get the hoodie and the sunglasses. Somebody stole the hoodie from a party at our luxury Manhattan apartment one fine fall evening and the sunglasses were cheap and ugly. :shakesfist:

To the original topic, since my mom worked at the 'Hut HQ (before it moved to Dallas in the mid 90s) I guess maybe for that reason we were pepsi folk but if im being completely honest i always yearned for that forbidden Coke of Cola.
