my current view is that it is not a winnable race. it's good for the texas democratic party that beto is willing to martyr himself in their service, but it's bad for him personally. What would be good for him personally?

Grand standing turd. But fitting for #blueanon
Grand standing turd. But fitting for #blueanonI don’t really see confronting the Texas governor for failing to do anything to curtail gun violence or use of assault weapons to be “grandstanding” under these circumstances.

do you disagree with what he's saying
It's all about the style points for Beto.
If he's elected, he'll go to DC and talk a lot and do nothing. There's just as many blow hard do nothings on the right as well.
this guy is also not a fan of grandstanding

When that boomer yelled "sit down" I thought that was an insensitive thing to say. That dude was also using a cane and cussing like a rough ridin' idiot.

Buddy, you're lucky you don't know what I know about Texas politics. It sucks B's and T's.
It's all about the style points for Beto.
#blueanon clings to the style points and needs to feel like someone is doing something. A committee, a working group, somebody writing a paper, an emotional outburst that solves nothing. That's what #blueanon thrives on. For Beto it was about suburban mom votes, and rallying the base. If he's elected, he'll go to DC and talk a lot and do nothing. There's just as many blow hard do nothings on the right as well.

Sure I agree, and that response will have solved about as much as Beto O'Rouke will solve relative to this issue if he's elected.

i guess i don't understand focusing on the fact that he's grandstanding if you think his point is correct and there are 19 dead children

I guess I don't understand why someone actually believes Beto O'Rourke was trying to accomplish anything besides get voters to be elected to an office where it's highly unlikely he will do anything of substance to fix the problem.
i endorse this. as political theater, it would be an inspired move. That would be awesome

i don't usually agree with the gop, but in this case i think they're absolutely correct. the focus shouldn't be on guns. it should be on mental health. And since your ability to receive mental health care and services depends on you having a job then i just think and pray that those folks are in a position to take time off work to tend to their mental health. I think 99% of americans would agree...especially those who might be feeling stressed at work either because they are worried that they might get laid off or they are stretched too thin...there is always time to take time off to get the help you need. Luckily, the unemployed are probably the most mentally stable members of society b/c you don't have to stress over work if you don't have a job! So the folks that don't have access to mental health care are also the ones least likely to need it, so you see it really all kinda works out. let's ignore the grandstanding and stay focused, you guys.
the usa is not an outlier on mental health, it is not an outlier on violence in video games/movies. it is an outlier on guns.

how do you square this with "we should focus on mental health"

Beto is cringe
I hate Abbott too but I take him and his power seriously. Beto is a loser and cannot be the response to Texas Republicans.

vibes are a powerful weapon
Holy crap. That dude is made of like 95% vibes. One of the most vibe-ing dudes I've ever seen.
Elected Beto - He'll make you feel better (won't fix anything, tho)If your biggest criticism of a candidate is he won’t do enough to fix the status quo, it seems like a pretty ringing endorsement to me.

Abbot’s ads blaming Beto for fentanyl, “the world’s most dangerous border” and Texas’ high crime rates are pretty incred.

That's just propaganda. Nobody puts fentanyl in cocaine. Not unless you want to have a good time.
DeflectoBot.7 is #deflectobottinRank the last 6 presidents and their border policies
Dax, in your opinion of course, is there a president who has been appropriately tough on the cartels?I always enjoy seeing Dax’s reactions to questions like these.

"There was one President" refers to Trump, correct?
And "#blueanon absolutely melted down about it" refers to the backlash to forcibly separating children from their families, correct?
Just want to make sure I'm tracking.
Dax, do you support the war on drugs?
The Feds put out a warning because they seized thousands of Fent doses wrapped up in candy bags.Ok, but you know that’s just a disguise to try and smuggle them in, right?
Dax, do you support the war on drugs?
The war on drugs that can kill thousands of people at a time, yes.
The war on a drug that is the biggest killer of teenagers and young adults in our country right now, yes
The things I appreciate about #blueanongE on this topic is 1. How hard you fight the reality. 2. The fact that you think it’s funny.Dax, do you support the war on drugs?

You said teenagers and young adults. I pulled the data for 15-24.9 y.o., as that's the definition. Your source gives data for 18-45.9 y.o.
For the young adult crowd, the data shows car accidents as the leading cause of death. There's clearly a lot of drug overdoses in the 25-45.9 y.o. crowd, though. And fentanyl overdoses are definitely a primary driver of those deaths.
However, there is a tried and true way to prevent these deaths. "Just Say No."
There was one President who put a premium on border security.
#blueanon absolutely melted down about it, which is super weird considering that #blueanon political leaders (mostly very very old white people) were fully onboard the semi tough talk of "you just can't jump over a river" of the previous administration who was sorta kinda tough on the border, at least at various times when political opportunities arose. That administration of course wasn't all that keen on actually securing the border and making it tougher on the cartels . . . in fact that walked automatic weapons to the cartels, and then in typical #blueanon fashion tried to blame it all on everybody else besides themselves and shipped one West Winger off to some far flung outpost to avoid congressional testimony.
None of this of course changes the reality that Beto O'Rourke is a POS poser
BetoDork - King of Texas Dorkdom
