It should definitely be Joe Rogan

I only like podcasts for long drives home. For example, when I visit MHK, I'm fist pumping my ass off to hype music. On the way home (usually hungover) put on a 7 hour podcast that is going to last the whole drive from MHK -------> Den. Would be my only use of them tbh.
-
Yes. I very rarely listen to podcasts anymore, as I find I don't have huge stretches of time to kill while doing boring tasks like I used to. Part of it is not having long drives to kill time. Podcasts are great for that. Even though I used to dip into the podcast well fairly often, I still feel a bit overwhelmed and the sheer breadth of content out there. Plus, unless you have a pretty bulletproof recommendation, podcasts can be big time commitments, and in aggregate most are lame af.

I recently listened to like 20 hours of Dan carlin talking about Japan during wwii, lmao. Good for walks and plane rides and whatnot
-
He kicks so much ass
-
Dan Carlin is fantastic. But man does it take forever.
-
Prophets of Doom is a great one parter to get started instead of the multi pod series like most.
-
I used to listen to Hardcore History and whatever his current events one was. Common Sense, I believe. Is he still making content? Seems like he slowed wayyyy down a few years ago.
-
I really like common sense. The last two are from October and January though. He rarely does it
-
Gilbert Gottfried has a podcast

KK turned me on to the Dollop. Pretty fun podcast for car rides.

I'm sure you've listened to the episode, but the one about "The Rube" is fantastic.

I really liked his WW1 series and Ghosts of the Ostfront. The Japan series just seems rambling and unfocused.

Yeah.
I wondered if it was because I don’t know a lot of that history very well.
Most of the others I know fairly well and so Carlin is great because he finds such great stories and details for deeper insight.

I didn't find Japan to be rambling. I mean the first episode maybe but from then onwards it's just chronological

Yes, that was awesome. I also enjoyed the Newspaper Strike a great deal.
-
So they are basically just books but instead it's people talking?
-
It’s basically not books at all but is people talking.

Ah, I see. But they could talk about books maybe?

I might Like a History Podcast. I love history. Where can I find that one about WWII or whatever you guys were saying.

Dan Carlin - Hardcore History.
-
I listen to at least one hour of podcasts a day.
-
I enjoy listening to history podcasts when I fall asleep. The Dan Carlin Japan one is pretty good.
-
Anyone know of a podcast in which they discuss the types of people who do and don't listen to podcasts?

No, but it sounds like a fantastic new business opportunity/angle for _33 to find his niche in the podcast game.

i really like the wyman history podcasts, but they frustrate me because i have the sense that there's a big library of old ones that aren't publicly available and it pisses me off.
-
Dr. History is pretty good short and informative

I like him a lot too, but he has been crowded out by other stuff, I will work through a bunch this summer.

The only time i've ever been able to listen to podcasts was when I was traveling for work. Mostly listened in the car as on planes, I prefer jams. I'm barely in the car more than 10 min now, so I haven't listened to any in forever. I can't listen to someone talk while I do stuff so that really limits my options.
