For me. Dave Lapham, Joel Meyers, & Knoxy on the sideline for the FSN game (especially 11:30 kick-offs).
-
11:30 kickoffs suck.
I will miss knowing we were amazing in the early years of the B12 :frown:
-
Dr.Pepper/Phillips 66
-
Owning UT

Big Monday..although it was after the big east game :barf:

Automatic BCS birth
-
The flags..........
-
The nortards.
-
All the freaking Hype and letdown of how good we were supposed to be.
Only 2 that lived up to the hype was KU's NC and Vince Young.
:jerk:
-
Almost every state in the Big 12 is detestable. We can tolerate Kansas because we're from there. I, for one, will be glad to be rid of the state of Texas. I rough ridin' hate Texas.
-
The Big 12 sucked. Good riddance. What will I miss the most about the Big 12? Probably how much I hated it. It's been run like a second rate fundraiser for the state of Texas since its inception and allowed itself to be walked on each and every year of its miserable existence. Au revoir you stinking piece of steaming crap.
<-----On to greener pastures for this huge K-State fan.
-
Everything.

crooked, dirty ol ku.

Opposing fans' bbs'ing. It's going to suck reading a message board populated with conference foe fans from TCU and New Mexico State. Do mid-majors even know how to use message boards?
On the bright side, we'll get to teach lots of people how to pak
-
Having our basketball and football competitions broadcast so I can watch them on my television set.
I would imagine when we're playing a 1:10 (all our games will be day games to save electricity) kickoff against tulsa, they won't even put the game on espn gamecast.
-
Doug Bell.
-
As part of the deal does the Pac-16 have to take Randy Crystal?
-
Walking tacos
Being able to call KU a nonrival
Playing Nebraska for what seemed like all the marbles
Almost never losing to Texas in any sport
35-7
Having Frank Martin as a basketball coach
Michael Beasley
Just about everything :bawl:
*Not Texas Tech, Baylor, Texas A&M, or Missouri, though. All of those schools can just eff off.

Mouth watering Whataburger commercials, & then remembering I can't have it

I know guys. But there's nothing better than waking up early in the morning and heading out to the Bill to tailgate, etc. It's electric.

mine will be the accessablility of going to the close away games. i can't tell you how many time i have gone to either linkin or lowrentz for a game. even columbia is really close. you can easily drive to and from these places. granted ku will most likely be in our conference, but i hate how our other closest league members may be in places like: fort collins, colorado springs, fort worth, laramie, and albequerque. :barf:

with our soon to be limited athletic department budget, we won't be able to properly maintain the Willy head. We'll end up with just a pair of cat ears. you think we get made fun of now for just having a head for a costume, just wait till it's cat ears and painted on whiskers.

We may have to spring for a painted-on paper bag or a Willie sock puppet.
-
Kicking the living sh1t out of every other Big 12 program each and every week
-
Given that the majority of our away games will most likely be played in the states of New Mexico, Colorado, and Utah....I suppose I should warm up my skiing skills.
-
CU. Bye, Boulder.
-
being elite......were just like Washburn and Emporia now.....
-
Acutally being able to go to games.
-
seeing pro-level athletes come to manhattan even thought i hate them......vince young, sam bradford......
-
Just think. The next time you're in Boulder, CU will feel more like an inaccesible stranger up on a pedestal. You used to kind of be friends, but then everything changed when he moved away and got famous while you've been grinding away at your dead end job. It's going to be really sad.
-
Wow, the Big XII Network isn't going to be running anymore in two years...
R.I.P.

Wow, that was rough.
-
I know its sounds like fun to sit and cry in our beer like we are doing. In the end we will be fine. We won't end up in a lesser conference. This is like one big poker game. Colorado is the guy who gets all excited, thinks they have a great hand and bets the farm only to find out they got beat. Nebraska hasn't officially announced yet and no one else for that matter except Colorado. But wait, Colorado is so awesome at everything they do. I'll cry when all this is official, right now nothing but a lower tier university has left. Might have done the conference a favor.

Love the music for this one..

I was all depressed until I saw that slideshow. WOW what a great bunch of memories there. I don't care what anyone says...we OWNED the Big 12 in those years. And I saw every one of those home games from the sideline.
I'm not feeling that bad now.

Lucky...I was a freshman that didn't know WTF K-State football was about, so I bought my tickets late and sat in the corner with the visiting fans/bands.
-
The fading memories of Jim Rose completely melting down as he watched Cornhole football slide farther and farther into irrelevance . . . likely knowing that the best it will be ever be again is slightly above mediocre.
-
Grew up with the Big 8 Conference. I know hindsight is 20/20, but I wish that back then the Big 8 had made some unbreakable pact that "if it all goes to hell, the Big 8 sticks together." So the thing I'll miss most about the Big 12 is the Big 8. Screw the Texas schools.

One of my fondest memories over the past 40 years of watching all KSU sports was watching the overall turn of events in the 90's....mad as hell that Nub fans were buying large blocks of season tickets just for one game (they did it for FB BB & WBB)...then watching the amount of red gradually disappear in the stands over the years.

I've said all along that the Big 8 admin saw dollar signs and sold out to UT. Turns out those dollars were peanuts in the end...UT STILL got the greater amount of money. Not bitter, but never was a Big 12 fan like I was with the Big 8. The Big 8 might not have been generating as much money, but they had RESPECT as the overall toughest conference in the country to play in.
-
I won't forget the Inaugural Big XII Football game at home vs Tech in '96. My grandparents were there to see it (from Texas). Grandad had a great time. I got a bad sunburn in the student section. Martin kicked the first Big XII football. We thought then that the conference would last forever.

Both of you are wrong and incredibly racist. You'll be begging to go back to College Station in a couple of years. Just wait.
-
I agree with the sentiments toward the Big 8. I mean, I'm really not torn up over Nebraska. But I definitely don't give a crap about Texas (other than riding on their coattails). Sucks more to see the old Big 8 broken up.
-

meh, I found the vodka tonics at the Dixie Chicken incredibly watered down. :barf: <---- what LSOC wanted to do but instead had really weak drinks.

Texas choking in, well, everything. They lost at home, as the 2 overall seed, against our soon to be new rival.
