TITLETOWN - A Decade Long Celebration Of The Greatest Achievement In College Athletics History => Kansas State Basketball is hard => Topic started by: Pete on April 06, 2021, 12:37:57 PM

As everyone knows and accepts, Baylor is now the undisputed Lord of Big 12 basketball, due to holding the most recent national championship. Incidentally, Baylor is also the Lords of Big 12 Women's basketball for the same reason.
As the new undisputed Lord of Big 12 basketball, I expect a LOT of changes. An eventual move of the Big 12 tournament to a location closer to the new Lords, and I expect to see a sharp drop off in KU wins and fan attendance. These changes will not be easy for many to accept, but accept they must. There is no choice. These are just facts.

I already know a KU booster who just pulled their season tickets because of this. Sucks.
-
if david koresh had brought the Branch Davidians to manhattan, would k-state fans being the ones celebrating right now? part of me says yes.
-
I'm hoping this is the kick in the pants that KU needs to make BIG changes to their program. It's hard to read Self's extension as anything other than acceptance of the new order though.
-
I'm going to miss having the big12 tournament in KC every year :frown:.
Hopefully its only in Dallas every other year and not all the time.
-
Traditionally, a combination of ISU/KSU/KU win both the conference and the B12 tourney but this year we collectively got walloped (combined 16-38 in conference). We don't deserve to have anything in KC until we collectively get our crap together.

Facts don't care about your feelings and the facts say the lords of big 12 basketball reside in Waco, Texas.
Did you know Waco actually stands for We Ain't Ceding Our (Lordship)
-
Someone needs to make one of those gif vids with the team logos over movie characters heads. Game of thrones or something.
-
I hope UT wins one soon, this is a tough pill to swallow.
-
This is the inevitable result of KU's rising tide finally lifting all boats.

I guess there’s been a shift in power to the south

Damn now Beard snatched Howard right off KU’s bench to be at UT. Southern teams are going in dry.

Snacks isn't a big loss, but I do wonder about the circumstances (and also what exactly he did for us). Did he get poached in the true sense? Did KU/Self tap him on the shoulder and politely suggest he start looking for another job?
-
Clearly he was one of the dirty ones

Boss "All your coaches belong to me" move.

They (we) also stole Andrea Hudy from us (them) a couple years ago. That one appears to have been a true poach.
-
I, for one, welcome our new Bear overlords

More like Dugout Quislingstone

Grudgingly I must admit that the Iron Throne of Big 12 Basketball resides in none other than Waco Texas and Baylor University.
I also see that Scott Drew now has a .680 winning % in the NCAA tourney over the course of 25 games and it could be argued that Drew likely would have piled on even more wins in a 2020 NCAA tourney.
54-6 over the last two seasons

I'm not certain that Baylor can maintain the high standards set for champions by KU.

Championships the last 3 seasons:
Baylor: 2 (2021 National Championship, 2021 Big 12 regular season Championship)
K-State: 2 (2019 Big 12 regular season Championship, 2020 Big 12 Tournament Championship)
Texas Tech: 1 (2019 Big 12 regular season Championship, 2019 National Championship Appearance)
Texas: 1 (2021 Big 12 Tournament Championship)
Iowa St: 1 (2019 Big 12 Tournament Championship)
Kansas: 1 (2020 Big 12 regular season Championship)
I'd say it's been awhile since KU was a clearly at the top of the B12.
