Brady was a great guy and a great Cat.
-
RIP MH
-
The last thing he told me was that football success this year carries the same weight as Helms Titles. So fitting
He was GE’ing until the very end.
-
RIP my IRL friend. :frown:
-
Way too young. This really sucks. RIP, MH!
-
I always enjoyed his posts and wondered where he ended up. sad day :frown:
-
This is some bullshit :frown:
-
I met Brady at FF2015 when we were on the same trivia team (Lit with Randolph(elite marcus foster reference)). We had a great time and won the belt. RIP MH.
-
RIP my friend, always had good times, and always put others first.
Smiling thinking about a couple times he kept me out of trouble on a couple of late Aggieville nights, will miss you buddy.
-
The 2 years I lived in Manhattan recently, I probably spent more of my time with Brady than anyone else in town. He was a very good person and I enjoyed his company a lot.
He will be missed.

Very sad. I didn’t know him nearly as well as a lot of you but every time I was with him was really great.

Because of this wonderful BBS, I randomly met a man who I consider to be a brother and was a groomsman in my wedding.
A tremendous loss for us all. I’m going to miss him terribly.

Brady was the rough ridin' best.
He's one of the main reasons I got my job at Hot 103 Jamz. I was at Manhattan Broadcasting and carless at the time I applied at Hot 103. They scheduled my interview for a Saturday. Brady offered to let me take his truck to KC for it. After interviewing Saturday they asked me to come back for an additional interview the next day. Which was fine because I wasn't working weekends...then they asked me to come back again on Monday (shoulda seen that red flag, but alas) and Brady was totally cool with me keeping it longer than we had agreed upon.
Last time I saw him (10/28/20), he asked me pick him up to take him to pick up his car that had just finished being serviced out on Barry Rd. After dropping him off, I had some errands to run in the area before heading home to KCK (read: a long drive for my shitty car). My engine blew right as I was passing Argosy casino. I can let you guess who picked me up and took me home.
Brady was a God amongst men. Rest In Greatness.

Thank you for posting Paul. Sorry for your loss and your's as well meister. I know you were very close.

I'd love to setup a Zoom meeting where folks can share their Brady stories. Since I'm sure you all have memories of posts he's made, tailgate highlights, or any random stories. Brady was great and I wanna hear about things he's done that I'm not privy to.

Brady was a definite stud and all around good guy. This really really sucks. I’m going to take an inventory and make sure I’m making the most of my time on earth. Kinda feel like I probably haven’t been the past six months. So sorry for everyone that knew him better than me. Losing anyone is tough but losing someone that young is just so much harder. Sorry guys.

Love this idea. I was lucky enough to have him as a roommate for two years. We lived about 100 yds from Mae's. I worked at Mae's and he worked at Tallgrass. Times I won't forget.

Great dude. Like SD I didn't know him as well as you other cats around Manhattan a lot, but he was such a pleasant, polite, and hilarious guy to be around. I spent almost all of my time with him at Fatty Fest. I can't wait until we're all chipped, so we can get together and I can here you all's stories about this great man.
I love you all and I'm so sorry to those of you who knew Brady well. Thank you to everyone who shared stories.

The famous Sergio?!?! Thanks for the videos, guys.

Yeah the world is worse off without Brady in it. Don’t know what else to say really. It’s horrible thing losing a guy like that so young. Universally loved.
That video of him mentoring bear on the hoverboard should be submitted to natgeo.

My thoughts are with all of you that knew him well. Seems like an amazing dude, and taken too soon.

sad for all of you that knew him well. :frown:

Very sorry for his close friends and family on here. Met Brady at FF, and genuinely enjoyed my time with him at a couple of FF's. Perhaps he's having a cold one and some dipping dots with Fatty (prolly diet coke for fatty tho), watching the cats today.

Easily one of the best humans I've ever encountered.

So many of my memories of the Royals and their World Series runs are attached to Brady. If I remember correctly, seven, MetalHead and I started a "USA! USA! USA!" chant at Mae's once we won the series against the Blue Jays. There are few stories in my entire life that make me smile that big when I share it with others. eff, when I think about it. He's one of the few people i knew who would ask "how are you?" and legitimately want to hear the real answer, even if it was in a crowded bar late at night. And I mean, EVERYTIME he asked.
I can't express enough how awful I feel for not being good at keeping in touch with him once he moved to KC. And especially once all of this bullshit going on was clearly more serious than it originally seemed like.
I hope I can use this combo of bawling like a baby and happy reminiscing to motivate me to keep in better touch with the friends I don't see in person much anymore. I'm really happy that fattyfest gives us dorks a reason to all see each other. I love all of you and I know it's cliche, but I'm here for anyone who needs anything disirregardlessly of time of day, what it is, etc. etc.
-
I feel the same way steve.

Lol, we also sang the national anthem. I hadn't thought about that in a while.

Thoughts to all of you guys who were close to him. I also didn't get to know him as well as I obviously should have but he was a "must see" at FF and I would always make my way over to his table to chop it up. This is just extremely sad

Gonna post tweets here that I'm sure we all already saw. His sister was on facebook looking for more pictures and messages. We can try to get everything in here and then send her a link to this thread.
Add any more you saw or have.

Really sad news. I've been largely inactive on the board the past few years, and I didn't even know he was battling this disease. I only interacted with MH IRL a couple of times, but enjoyed his company. I'm very sorry for those of you who were close to him.
Grief and loss are inevitable parts of the human experience, and there are lots of places we can take them. I agree with Stevesie, I'm available to talk about real stuff anytime. If anyone on this board is in a spot where your grief is moving past sadness into something more desperate or you'd just like to process loss, I'm a pretty good listener and would be available. Dealing with hard things like this is part of my job now. If not me, then reach out to someone- even just to express your emotions outwardly so you don't sit alone with them.
RIP Metalhead.

Brady's sister is in the process of trying to get a gE account (Saul!!!), but in the meantime she wants to let everyone know who hasn't seen it on facebook already that she's planning a toast via zoom or similar on Brady's birthday January 23rd either all at around 10:30 a.m. or throughout the course of the day.
So, not that most of us need more encouragement, but plan on drinking a beer(s) that Saturday.
-
gE posters should all be moved to 1a chip'n group so we can respect-pak for our guy Brady at mhk brewing on the 23rd

For the differences we may have, it's always great to see this community come together. I've thoroughly enjoyed meeting a few of you in person over the years. Wish I'd known your friend. My condolences on your loss.

This is Metalhead’s sister, Megan. Hello to my recently adopted friends. If you were Brady’s friend you are now welcome to be my friend. Hope that’s okay. Sorry to meet y’all under these circumstances. A couple of you I already know but I wanted to say thanks for being Brady’s friend and creating this thread to remember him. Here’s a link to the event I created. I hope you can join in. https://fb.me/e/Dp5CsknW My parents and I all have plans to revisit MHK when it’s a bit more safe to do so. We want to actually be able to meet up with a lot of y’all in person. Again, thanks for the love and support and sharing memories of my brother. It means a lot to us that you all took the time out to create this space for him. 💜

Thanks Megan, I am working on a deal with Manhattan Brewing for Brady's bday and Adam is working on brewing The Juicy for that. Obviously understand if the family won't be coming down to MHK that soon with the pandemic, but we can probably send along pics and check in on the zoom.

Boulevard is brewing a beer for Brady’s birthday.

This could be a pipe dream, but Zipline brewery in Omaha has collaborated with Boulevard before. Maybe we could get them to brew a batch for Omaha cats like SD, Havs and NeymarCat

I'd drive down the highway to Omaha to scoop a batch up too.

Can confirm Brady’s fam will be in MHK on Jan 23rd. Exact details TBD but thinking right now it’ll potentially be late afternoon.

This place is full of amazing people, and for all to think so highly of Brady, it makes me genuinely sad I never got the chance to meet him.
RIP to him. Got to think he’s enjoying all of you sharing stories and gathering to do so.
His family and friends will be in my thoughts and prayers.

i'll head down there next week, it's about 5 mins from me. pm me if you need me to grab some

Right by my office. I will be there when they open on Monday. Gonna stock up if anyone wants hmu.

Eyeball what would be involved in successfully shipping some to me.

Ordered 3 bottles for a relative to pick up for me later today.

Awesome tribute.

I haven’t had so much as a sip of beer in probably a decade but went down to the brewery this morning. got there at 11:45, they open at noon. was happy to see a line of people waiting outside, probably 30 or so with more coming. grabbed kat kid and trim their bottles and myself and star seed 7 one too.

See you all from a tiny zoom box early Saturday morning probably drinking cheap local beer that we indulged in last time Brady was up here as my best approximation for one of those fancy ones.

I have donated twice myself, both being different organizations due to the length requirements, but I can't remember all the org names. I do know one I donated to was Locks of Love as they mailed me a certificate.
-
I'm almost positive it was locks of love for that video. Bear did it as well.

I'm almost positive it was locks of love for that video. Bear did it as well.
He actually used Pantene, but they don't do it anymore. Bear recommended Wigs for Kids. My daughter ended up picking Children with Hair Loss. Doing research, both orgs seem to be very similar. If y'all research this you might see some negative stuff about locks of love, that they charge for wigs, but that isn't true at all. My daughter didn't pick them because they are the most well known company so she figured they get enough donations so she wanted to use a smaller organization.

That's really sweet. My son has donated like 50% of his net worth to the T. Russel Reitz Animal Shelter and is always thinking about those poor homeless doggos.

No idea if I’m posting this correctly or not, ha. My parents and I rolled into MHK just after 4 pm yesterday. I think some No Quit crowlers in honor of Brady are still available at Manhattan Brewing Co. Thinking we’ll celebrate there/in MHK again next year. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, everybody.

You posted it perfectly. Thank you for putting the virtual toast together. Unfortunately I was stymied by middle school basketball so I couldn't attend like I wanted to. The packaging on those crowlers look great and I'm not a huge beer guy but the description of the drink is definitely something I'd try. I'm sad I'm stuck in Iowa so I can't get either the drinks from Boulevard or Manhattan Brewing.
I'm glad you and your family was happy with the celebration and I can't wait to toast in person with all of you and our goEMAW family next January.

Anybody tried their Never Give An Inch yet? I wasn't going to open mine for awhile but then decided that was dumb because Brady would want it to be drank. It's really good, not that I'd expect much less from Boulevard.

Got my Boulevard Beer last weekend! Super glad they were able to make so many for him.

So, I am going to back a candidate for LLS Man of the Year so if anyone wants to donate, hold off until I post his info.
I may be raffling some of his beers on here too.

Any update on that nomination? Would love to donate.

I have a bookcase with my Legos and other dumb toys. Brady's bottle helps the hobbes replica stand upright. I pass by 3-4 times a day usually and it makes me happy to remember him.
