With a lot of Covid-19 shutdowns going on please post local businesses that could use our support by buying giftcards, takeout, services, etc.
I'll start. Auntie Maes has always been a gracious host of Fattyfest. They are gE family and just closed the doors for Covid-19. They have gift cards and Merchandise!

Ordered a gift card shirt and coasters from Mae’s. Probably will do another gift card again next week. The chef is another great biz to support and we did takeout once so far.

For you KC'rs, Blind Box BBQ are good people. I'm picking up from there tonight.

I only go to Finns to puke in their bathroom but I should buy a gift card from them because I would be sad if they were gone.

Taphouse did a ramen special a while back. My wife was grabbing post-work drinks there and ordered it to go for us. They packaged a number of the ingredients separately so it wouldn't get soggy/shitty. Absolute pro-move.

Nice! What were they running 20 years ago? I think this iteration of The Chef opened in '07-08. I think it is my favorite place in all of Manhattan.

I assumed he was referring to the owners hiring him at a different restaurant they were working at.

I always thought Kevin Harris (RIP) was the kitchen manager at So Long before opening the Chef.

He very well may have but he and Kursten operated Howdy's, she was around a lot more than he was, the operating hours were limited, so I suppose it's possible he did both. I also had no idea he passed away, sad, they were essentially the same age as I am.
-
Yep. He had a massive heart attack about a month ago. Very sad. His memorial was packed.

Howdy's closed a few years ago and is now Harry's private dining room.

Someone walk or drive their household’s lone car over to mae’s and take the stuff I ordered that seems to already have a shipping label printed for it and put it in a mailbox. T-Y.
