Imagine if you will halftime entertainment that consists of an arm wrestling match between LittreLL and seidler where seidler is waiting for him at midfield while seth walks the team to the locker room. then seth walks back out, sits down and turns his hat on backwards while willie and crazytrain are playing on the jumbotrons. :excited:

I guess I don't get what Klein has done that is worth keeping him.
In terms of coaching em up, our QB development has been pretty poor IMO.
Has he landed any recruit that has been effective for us?

Yes agree with this. Maybe Klein is a good coach but I sure don’t have much reason to think that based on how things have gone this year.

I loved Klein for 2012 (and that Texas game in 2011) but I'd prefer my QB coach to actually enjoy throwing the ball.
As far as Sean, he seemed to do a much better job on ST when he didn't have this whole "being the next coach" cloud hanging over his head. Perhaps he can get back to business.

I just want him to be good :)

Keep Seiler and whoever has some recruiting ties that Seth might not have.
I expect Ekeler to be back also.
-
Klein can stay because he knew Arthur, Bryce and Chris. As a GA.
-
The correct answer currently is:
Seiler
Norwood
Klein
(and possibly Dickey)
Will let you know if anything changes.
:buh-bye:

Should we expect assistants to be kept on? Is that a normal thing?

In this situation I think so. You usually only see a full house cleaning when the previous guy was fired (seen Nebraska last year).
I'm thinking Seth will keep a couple to help retain our better players and ease the transition.

Hot up and comer OC types tend to undervalue Defense and it takes them a while to adjust to the P5........i am building a case to retain Seiler for that reason......that and the fact the Defense improved dramatically as the season went on despite losing Shelley and whoever else on that side of the ball.

What metrics are you using to state the defense improved dramatically?
-
Can we add /Bring to the equation? What members of the current UNT staff would you like to see brought over?
Graham Harrell?
-
keep Seiler and maybe Dickey. Maybe Coleman as WR coach for his Georgia recruiting ties.

don't have any super stat driven stuff........just observations on the field of play.......maybe "improved dramatically" is the wrong phrase........they held down a bunch of conference opponents despite our piss poor offensive production......my take is if they can repeat that defensive performance(or improve a little), then I am confident LittreLL can score the ball more.....hell, maybe even raise the scoring average 10 points ......that would be a super amazing effort in his first year IMHO

Probably not as many as you'd be inclined to think. They have two coordinators and an associate HC, and you'd think there's a high possibility of one of the three of them becoming the new head coach. You'd also think some of the position coaches will get promoted. The staff is likely to be a nice mix of retained staff, guys coming from UNT, and all new hires altogether.
Mike Ekeler may be out of a job, he may be in the phone with LittreLL.
-
Go get Chzik for DC. My God the cube heads we'd have on the sidelines.

It wasn't drastic, but the best thing we had with slight improvement from last year.

You using S&P+?
-
special teams.....christ :dubious:
-
Keep Coleman for recruiting, I don't know that anyone else can recruit worth a crap.
-
special teams.....christ :dubious:
FWIW ESPN has our special teams efficiency at #3 in the conference and #28 nationally.
-
You using S&P+?
Average of S&P+ and FEI.
-
Keep Coleman for recruiting, I don't know that anyone else can recruit worth a crap.
I'm not impressed that players at his position seem to be in the doghouse/leave in droves.
-
D-rew reported multiple times this year that the lynch mob was back. :lynchmob:
-
I thought our D did alright which was no easy task given how helpless our offense seemed most of the year.
-

on the flip side, he recruited like half of our players worth a rip. And I don't know that he deserves ALL the blame for Zuber being in the doghouse and the guys going to Appalachian State. It isn't like WR is the only position with weird departures or random doghouses under Snyder
-
Sean - Definitely Automatic Gone. Obvious is obvious, and he's part of the problem.
Coleman - Gone. Playcalling has been pure dog crap.
Klein - Indifferent. He'd best go to different schools to learn different types of offenses and to improve his coaching abilities.
Z. Hanson - Indifferent. Can't say much about him.
Hickson - Indifferent. See above.
Seiler - Stay. There's potential there.
Norwood - Indifferent. Can't say much about him.
Fabris - Gone. Haven't really done much, plus he's old.
Mo - Definitely Automatic Gone. He hasn't done crap in the recruiting trail as far as I know.
S&C:
Dawson - Gone. Haven't been impressed with him as it seems like our guys are just getting dinged up and haven't really noticed any of the players actually, you know, gotten bigger.
You're also forgetting Dickey. Him, I'm indifferent.

Gotta keep Seiler, right?

that appears to be a near certainty
