KSO and other media types are in full-blown coaching search mode, with a presumption that Bill will be gone after Saturday's game. I've seen nothing that suggests Bill will voluntarily leave, so for the speculation about Venables along with a host of D-2 coaches to be warranted, that means KSU will be firing Bill.
Who do you think will do it, how and when/where? Or, does it turn out that nobody in the KSU mansion will have what it took to shoot, stab, choke or bash the figurative skull that is Snyder's tenure with a candlestick?

Those asshats are fitz jr’s, just ignore.

It's the posters, not the staff. I don't think the staff over there has many (any?) real insider connections.
Some of the posters, though I can absolutely confirm are ITK.

Lol no

Someone itk please confirm we won't have any Snyders after this season.
-
They need to generate content and we're running low on recruits to write decommitment stories about.
-
I'm sure that media types and itk posters and maybe gene himself genuinely believe that OBz will retire or that they can get him to retire, but I think they're mistaken.
-
OBz seems pretty snarky and dejected of late. I'd be surprised if he doesn't know the end is near.
-
I'll go with Mean Gene, a week BEFORE signing day, in Snyder's office, accompanied by Jill Shields, Kenny Lannou, and Scott McCowan.

Is this Myers giving the Code Red, or Gene and his henchmen going rogue?

Should I know who any of the supporting cast you listed are?

Myers gives it, but only after waiting to long and pulling the trigger at the worst possible time.

Makes sense. Myers vetoes the firing up until that point, but when OBz again releases confidential info while trashing the latest decommit at a catbacker meeting, he has no choice but to let Gene cut the head off.

The problem is, no one itk can tell you that today. If we win tomorrow, God help me, Bill might be back

Thanks Blackcats, you the man. :peek:

Given that Blackcats and BSAC are on gE, why would you go anywhere else for ITK info?
-
Maybe Sean will IRL burn it down on the way out

Thanks and God damnit. You guys rooting to win happy? We MUST tank.

I want him Wooly’d.
-
If he shows up to the post game in a neck brace i would send him some cash.
-
-
Not feeling like anyone at KSU has the ball to get this done.
-
Of course not. But we already knew that.

You guys ever consider if the new guy is any good he'll be gone in a few years?? Not going to find anyone who'll stay 25 years. :dubious:

wgaf? That is an extremely loser mentality, and very white midwestern heartland'y. "Oh no we must find someone who buys in wholeheartedly to The Wildcat Way and wants to live in Tatarrax forever and retire and move into Meadowlark during his sunset years." In many ways, someone who wins for 4 years and bounces would be good, because it would shake off the ridiculous burden so many of our tuck fans have unfairly saddled us with, which is the assumption that only people from the Snyder tree could ever win here. If somebody comes here and then leaves after 3-4 years of wins, great. That's 3-4 years of wins, and it inevitably means we'd be in a better position to hire the next coach than we are now.

You evidently weren't around pre-Snyder. Also, how'd that Prince experiment turn oit??????????
-
I think we can all agree that it would be a very good thing if our next coach did well enough to be desired by others.
-
I think a lot ksu fans are the incels of the college sports world.
-
Lol slackcat.
-
Snyder got us 2 Big 12 titles in like 20+ years? Even if every next KSU coach got stolen away after significant success here, we still have a decent shot at matching the marquee wins.
-
Would absolutely take someone who does nothing but win for 3 yrs and then bolt KSU for greener pastures.
-
The move is to hire someone that will whip ass and be desired by other schools, and for us to accordingly use the money we make from whipping ass to be giving the coach everything he could ever want all the time so that he elects to stay.
-
Anyone who brings up the pre-Snyder days as if they are relevant is a huge dumbass. As if the small-money college athletics of the 1980s have a damn thing to do with today.
-
Yes. KU has made tens of millions of dollars a year without having to barely lift a finger FB wise.
-
If it's thought by KSU administration that it's best for KSU for Bill to be gone, are they waiting and hoping he retires because they think it's important that he leaves with dignity or whatever or are they trying to save whatever it would cost to fire him?
Or are they FP's?
-
He has earned the right to leave on his terms.

So that's the best you have??????? Oh by the way, dumb ass is two werds.
-

Why, in the business of college athletics where it’s “what have you done for me lately?”, should he be allowed to leave on his terms?

bill said when the players AND the school AND the fans want him gone, he'll leave
how many do we have now?
-
Need a poll.

OP:
Arrested leaving Vanier, next week, embezzlement charges, Gene watching from his car across the parking lot.
-

So, we either get someone who isn't any good. Or keep Bill because he'd be willing to stay for another 25 years. (Or both!) Problem solved.

:peek:

If your options are small school young phenom, big time hotshot coordinator or big time guy that got fired
and assuming you think all would do an equally great job, I would probably opt for late career big time
fired stud for longevity.
-
So what!? Not hiring a coach because you think he'll be too successful and leave after a few years is probably one of the dumbest time I've ever seen posted on here. There are likely less than ten colleges in this country that have the ability to hire a coach for life.
-
Actually, I think the mods and certain ge'ers would be happy if we hire a succession of crappy coaches as KU has. That way we would have something to talk about for the next dozen years or so. Sounds great, right.

From most accounts, it sounds like Bill is entering the off season as business per usual right now. I think the team meeting this afternoon will give us a better idea if that's true or not, though. Hopefully he tells the team he's done, but if it doesn't come up he then puts the ball in Gene's court.
Hopefully Gene is prepared to release a "Snyder will not return to K-State" story either way, shortly after the meeting... I mean, 99.9% of America will just assume he's retiring, so who cares if he actually is, or it's Gene firing him. Just give him his buyout.
(I do not believe Gene will fire him)
-
Gene should just hire out a bunch of extras to pretend to be Bill's players. They can practice with him, go to team meetings, etc while someone qualified actually manages our football program.
-
it's not happening, is it? :frown:
-
if he stays, all he needs to do is win 8 games, tucks will be satisfied, and sean has a chance again. unless his age is too much of an issue, he's definitely going to push to stay. i would guess he cares more about family than legacy.
-
He will not be winning 8 games if he stays. He might not get 3 wins.
-
this ^ ....LHC Bill Snyder will never win 8 football games in a season again......he may not win 8 more games, period.
players are leaving the program and if he announces he is staying, more will transfer out.
lost our top recruit and this will be another shitty class.........these kids don't know who LHC Bill Snyder is anymore, and what's worse, they don't care what he did 20 years ago (98 Bishop stuff)
the ones he does get to come here find a crusty old man just trying to hang on......things are not very rosy in vanier......the bleeding will not stop until he is gone, the only question is how far down he will take the program.......a program is has been holding hostage for at least 3, maybe 4 years.
-
Campus being closed due to snow is the only reason this hasn't been resolved yet right?

Candlesticks are hard to wield in blizzard conditions.
-
i think they will just stop paying him and see if he stops showing up

They could have done exactly that last year under the terms of his contract.
-
Just change the locks at Vanier, maybe he’ll just give up after a few minutes of standing in the cold.
-

He is already in Vanier. He's locked the doors, piled up the furniture, and built a fort, and chained himself to the desk.
He is probably trying to look up how the Wonder Women gauntlets got their bullet deflecting powers and is trying to see if he can do the same with his cabinet full of bowl rings.
-
just call Sharon and tell her to come get him
-
Move his parking spot to the far end of the lot....may just say eff it and leave.
-
Remove all styrofoam coffee cups from Vanier in the name of the "environment".
-
Fire Sean? Special Teams was pretty atrocious this year.
-
Going back to Clue-fashion: it will be Gene in Vanier foyer with the box of crap.
-
Premium content from KSO:
Do you want LHC Bill Snyder to be K-State's coach next season?
Yes 56 vote(s) 6.9%
No 758 vote(s) 93.1%
:billdance:
-
Was this thread too figurative? Will Gene have to murder Bill? Would he?
-
Lower the temperature in Vanier by 5 degrees and lock the thermostat
-
Have the janitorial company that cleans his office move his Pinocchio collection different cardinal directions each night. He might go all Kathy Bates on his son..
-
Temporarily close the two Taco Bells in town.
-
i am pretty ITK and the only place i've heard that snyder will be gone is from the KSO board. they seemed so certain all along that they convinced me.
-
all i know is, i'm tired of watching this brand of boring football with less talent. so if he's back, i will not be renewing my tickets for the first time in 15 years. and i get it, i'm not gonna move the needle, but i'm pretty sure that there's a decent amount of people that feel the same way, and once someone changes their spending habits, it will be harder to get them to come back 2 years/5 years/10 years later, once they've found something else to do with their time/money.
-
KSU sucking at football has really helped my family dynamic by opening up my weekends. It’s probably for the best until the kids are grown.

It really has been convenient.

Join the club, MM, join the club. You'll love the freedom after that empty feeling goes away.

Honestly, this is where I'm at as well. I've had season tickets since 2005, including my time at K-State, and I'm just done killing my weekends for this crap. If there isn't some excitement from the sidelines for the program next year, I highly doubt I'll renew.
-

This is a strong point. I'm much more present. My kids really appreciate the extra time they get when I'm not re-watching the game on DVR twice every week.
-
yeah i've only made it to a couple games the last couple years because of kid's sports on the weekends, and give away the rest of the tickets to friends/family/neighbors. haven't minded doing it, my way of supporting the program. the product is so boring and stale now, i don't feel like i'm supporting anything, just throwing my money away.
