Mississippi State fans, you wanted to talk football, let's do it!
What particular subtopic in football would you like to discuss?
-
Can we get some hot RPO talk in here?

Many people have a favorite position they like to watch during a football match (11 v 11). I myself am a connoisseur of Tight End play. I like to really watch the tight end up close. The way they squat down and then the thrust off the snap, the grappling and the way they assert their total will over the weak little opposition until they have completely covered them up and are on the ground sweating all over the end or linebacker or in some cases a secondary player on a block.
I also like how they can be pretty versatile and spread out wide themselves and run option routes or button hooks or even a deep in.
Pretty interesting stuff to go in depth on and I can talk about tight ends all day for sure!

I would love to discuss the long snapper, the most interesting and crucial position in the game of American foot ball.
This guy stands around for most of the game, supporting his team and possibly is the ‘wave your towel at the crowd to pump them up’ guy.
When it’s time to long snap, he goes out there and snaps it....long. He’s probably the best passer on the team, because he does it backwards and between his legs.

The players must have knee pads now or they get sent off. Think this rule change could slow down MSU's fast-paced offense?
I don't know, but my gut says it's possible.
-
I love it when our tacklers get the other team's runners really good. Sometimes, two or three tacklers will hit a runner at once and I get a little concerned for the runner. Usually they are ok though.
-
My favorite player is the center. He bends over to hike the ball to the QB and then kicks the crap out of some sorry sap on the defensive line. Both sexy and brutal.
-
Did you guys know the safety position is the Quarterback of the defense? The only real difference is that they don't snap the ball or hand it off to people or throw it.

IYAM the best part is the under center exchange. QB Comes up and puts his hands between the centers legs and let's face it a lot of the time that top hand is right up against the centers delicious fanny. Def my fav

Yea, QB reminds me of Dr. Pol when he's pulling a calf.

What kind of defense do ya'll run? I think its some sort of 4-3 slide or something with very large cushions.

Football talk! :excited:

We usually play a 4-2-5 with a nickle in XII play but idk if we'll even need 11 players vs an SEC offense, likely a good rest week for some of our starters

You can start by spelling football correctly. It's one word, chief.
I don't think your offense is going to be able to run on us much at all.

Is 600 yards of offense with a 2nd string QB to begin the season with a new coach and new system an offense you would describe as a slouch?
You're in for a rude awakening my friend. We're a hell of a lot better than South Dakota State, fella.

Boy you wouldn't even know your name if it wasn't tattooed on your locker. My grandmother hits harder than you pansies.
I think you're in over your head here.

You probably are better than South Dakota State. We played South Dakota, though. I'm not sure if you are better than them or not. They looked pretty solid week 1.

They don't let us tattoo our lockers. But I do have some sweet stickers on the inside (mostly powercats and old school Willies).
I do hit hard however, just last week I roundhouse kicked piece of plywood in half (first try). In other words you don't want to mess with me.

Lol if you think the difference in those teams actually matters, you're about to be shell shocked Saturday.

At least his kids have teeth.

I don't have any kids. I wrap it up.

^^^Shoots blanks
-
It's possible.
What's not blank is the form I am going to have to get to register my hands and feet as lethal weapons once I get my black belt in November.
-
I think punt returns are the most exciting play in football. Lot can go right, lot can go wrong, both sides of the ball. Like Roulette, spin the wheel and see what happens. Most of the time the house wins, but sometimes, your number hits.

I mean it will be blank initially, but not once I fill it out and mail it in.

Easy there, buddy... They hung 600 yds on a team that's sniffing the top 200 in the Sagarin ratings!!
:ohno:

Not to get too existential but it's really only blank when it's a sheet of paper in the printer tray. After you hit print I suppose the fields will be blank but the form will not be blank.

Chings the more I think about it, do you think you could just use a PDF writer of some kind and fill in the blank fields prior to printing that way there will be no ambiguity regarding the blankness of the form. I feel a lot better about the whole situation now, thanks go cats

You guys had to come back in a 4Q miracle to beat an FCS team. An FCS team!
-
I think we should call more of the touchdown plays where we throw the ball really deep (after pretending to hand it off to the running back and a pump fake or two).
-
I agree. Those are some of my favorite touchdown plays.
-
FYI have heard grumblings that our return unit is practicing kick/punt returns but instead of getting tackled we don't get tackled and keep running until a touch down is scored oh man should be sweet if it works

wow that's impressive. I thought i heard you have a new starter this week though, is that right? If he's even better, that's like 1200 yards of offense expected if they both play! Wait, can they both play? I'm not up on these new fangled rules these days.

Seriously, don't wait on this. I know a guy who's pregnant wife was being harassed in a bar. He went out and beat the crap out of the guys doing it and accidentally killed one of them. Got charged with manslaughter as his hands were considered deadly weapons since he was a black belt. Spent 10 years in prison and was catching a ride home aboard a prison flight. It was hijacked by prisoners and he had to try and stop it himself to save a diabetics life. Dude totally saved his bud but then killed a lot of people crashing the plane in Vegas.
-
I think I saw a movie based on that guy's life. He was played by Nicholas Cage I think.
