Title: Should we yank Pullen's scholarship
Post by: pissclams on May 27, 2010, 10:13:31 AM
First of all, hear me out before deciding on the answer.  I blame a lot of the loss against Butler on Pullen, who by his own admission was "tired".  Secondly, he cannot transfer because he's going into his senior year and there's no way he could afford to lose the hype/momentum he built up last year during our tourney run.  So he'd have no choice but to stick it out in MHK.

If we pulled his scholarship now and forced him to walk on, we could open up the empty scholarship spot for that JUCO kid who originally signed at sister school Duke.  Thoughts?  I'm trying to find a scenario that would allows us as much talent as we can get, even though I think that in the long run this team is much better without Pullen than with him.  I don't think he fits Frank's system, this has been evident since day one when he came  to campus.

Genius.  I'm forwarding to Frank.  Going to take credit for the idea, too.

Excellent idea . . . we can then supplement Jake and his family by scalping tickets.   While it's certainly not going to be at ku's level just yet, I'll bet there's several games on the upcoming K-State schedule that would fetch some nice walking around money out there in the scalper market.    Courtside against Florida . . . UNLV at the Sprint Center, how much do you think a stack of Comp Tickets for the CBE Classic would fetch considering Duke and Zaga will be there??

Why stop with Pullen? Kelly has already transferred, so he's more or less stuck. He contributed nothing in the second half against Butler, and Frank had issues with him the whole year. And if you're going to pull Jake and Curtis' scholarships, you can't justify Sutton's.

Not just any job, needs to be one high enough to replace the missing tix with phony ones that "don't get picked up at will call".

What if instead of tickets, scalping airport services or hotel rooms on busy gameday weekends or appetizers?  I think we've got some "ins" there.

I'm good friends with the security guard Thomas. He recently got promoted, and sometimes will let me sit on top of the rail at football games... does that help  :dunno:?

I think we should call this program to support Jake and possibly Curtis in their time of need . . . Project Morningstar

I actualy hold a position that is equivalent to the positions of the five people fired from KU this spring.  Between my fleet of jet-skis, BK's backyard "scrambler" and "octopus" carnival rides, and the Weef's underground bomb mansion, we're pretty muched maxed out on profits from illegal sales.  So, you'll probably have to look for funds elsewhere.

This is too obvious.  We need to look lower on the food chain, like a janitor.  Because janitors have the keys to everything, including the ticket office.

Could really put together a nice expensive package to offer people and all...BSAC would be able to help keep us covered on the backside too.
