Title: Who in the Weber era will become part of the KSU basketball lore?
Post by: renocat on March 13, 2018, 09:21:21 AM
Wade and Brown have a chance.  To date, Jack Krap is probably the leading candidate in my opinion.  Others are Renocat level of lore which is not a good thing at all.  I pine for a Beasley, Pullen, a Coach.  Sigh ........

Wade and brown already have and if you don't think so you are crazy. Wes probably has too being in the NBA and all.

I'm just saying all that the duo Barry and Dean have done for this team is astronomical, to me they will be some of the best pickups of the Weber Era. They still have one more year.

Its pretty simple, all Dean and Barry need to do really is lead us to the 2nd weekend in the next 2 years (not likely this year). Do that, and they'll have the 3rd best season in the last 35 years. And they'd have NCAA appearances in 3 of their 4 seasons, which has also been very rare in that time span.

Fan I agree.  They are on the edge of being placed in our lore or mystic, and will be talked about in future generations.  I like GregKSU zeal.  Hopefully he will have memories to tell his youngins.  Do you think Sneed has a chance for lore if he gets himself righted?

Big factor could be that Wade and Brown need one memorable late game moment. TCU could count for Brown but considering we kinda backed out of the tournament after that not sure how long it will be remembered. Everyone remembers jakes "in shape" shot and having one of those would do a lot. If Wade last year or Barry this year wouldve hit the KU shot their "lore" would be a lot higher.

All Wade or Brown needs to do is hit a last-second shot to down a No. 1 seed in the second round like Blackman did against Oregon St. to make the cover of SI. Sets up nicely against Virginia.

Who other than Flush or Claws will have a game of a lifetime that will become part of our lore.
My picks:
Sneed aka Mr..Gravy
McGuirl the McSwish
And I think Diarra is poised to hAve a great day

Right now I'd give Barry the guy to go down in lore. Tonight he could solidify that a bit. Dean still has a shot and his 1st team Big 12 thingy is good, but not playing in the tournament is a bummer.

So let's play a game...

Would you rather win a Natty this year, but have oscar Weber for another 10 years.

OR

lose this game tonight and Weber gets hired by another school and we start looking for a new coach?

No offense manpow, because I like you, but west a dumb question. It would be a dumb question if you replaced "natty" with final four. You want the a answer to be 80-20, ask if people would trade a win tonight for s decade of oscar. I'd take a win tonight for a decade of Tom Asbury.

I will 100% not trade a win tonight for 10 years of Tom or Wooly.

A win tonight would be the biggest win in program history. The only other game even in the conversation is 2008 versus KU. Beating Kentucky in Atlanta as an underdog is 10x bigger than beating Xavier in Salt Lake City as the favorite. Also Nevada and Loyola-Chicago are far from Brad Steven's and Gordon Hayward's Butler.

We’ve got a long and storied history of not winning games that mean crap so who really cares. Not like we’re comparing NCs or something.

Better to have loved...

I had a literal front row seat to that shitty basketball and this feels better than that felt bad. I will say that bad would feel much worse now, then it just numbed me from the inside out after just like two years of it.
