:dunno: (ftp://:dunno:) So last night we had A&M (SEC version of OK) lose, NC State win, Neb win and Arkie lose. I also watched Mizzou lose to Ole Miss at home. How are they a projected 8 seed?
What is the biggest game tonight for us in regards to who we're competing against to go dancing?:
Georgia @ S.C. - I would guess we want a Georgia win?
Mich @ Penn St. -
N.C. @ Syracuse
Alabama @ Auburn
USC @ Colorado
I know I'm a simpleton and realize the committee is looking at quad 1 & 2 wins and SOS but I've looked at some of these teams that are projected 6-10 seeds and just don't get it. :babywillie: (ftp://:babywillie:)

This is the kind of thread I will enjoy checking later, but I think right now it's all but impossible to tell what you want to happen. Next week the picture should be much clearer. I mean, if we win our next two games it probably doesn't matter what happens next week anyway.
-
This thread is starting to gain some momentum like I knew it would!!
Syracuse loss was nice. VT looks legit and won't be on bubble. Penn St. losing helps put us ahead of those losers. Georgia kind of screwed us but everything else seems to be playing out well tonight in the SEC.
Those are my hot takes tonight, oh one more, way to show up tonight Brown. And could we get a bubble game scoreboard posted on here please? tia

These were the 5 teams that were barely In (coming into Tuesday morning) IMHO....
Baylor, Texas, Syracuse, StBony, Washington.
3 of the 4 lost (SB won). Washington plays tommorrow
Ucla, Marquette, Usc, Georgia were Top 4 teams that were not in.
Marquette, Usc won. Georgia lost. Ucla plays tommorrow
Unless we lose 4 straight, I'm not concerned if we make it in. It's more about what seed can we get.

i want a first round matchup against Nebrasketball. they win, and oscar is the dumbass who goes down to give them their only tourney win. we win, and we lol in their stupid faces. win win.

If we win, it's great. But if we lose, 100 years from now when people look at NUs only tournament win, they will see it was against KSU not oscar McGoose. That'll upset my cyborg self.

I think its time to fire this thread back up. One regular season game left for most teams and then the conference tourneys. Cats seem pretty safely in right now so technically we probably don't need a win if all the teams below us lose. So who all is that?
-
Alabama fading has been very good for K-state.

Want Baylor to win.

Does the typical bracket projection take into account things like the wrong team winning a conference tourney and getting an "extra" bid for said conference? Seems like it doesn't.
Like if Indiana were to win the B10 tourney, that means one of the lower at-larges drops out. In this sense, it seems like the "last 4 in" are pretty precarious.
Obviously it can go the other way too.

It doesn't take into account bid stealers, especially from bigger conferences. That has become less of a thing though because lower seeded teams have to play 1 or 2 more games now in most P6 leagues.

Yeah, it seems more likely to happen in a conference where there are 1 or 2 solidly in on at-large basis but another team wins. CUSA or A10 come to mind this year.

True. The leagues that could have one are the AAC (Cinci, WSU, Houston are in), the Mountain West (Nevada is in), West Coast (Gonzaga, St Mary's in), A-10 (Rhode Island, St Bonaventure in). Then the Mo Valley (Loyola Chicago in?), CUSA (Middle Tennessee in?), Summit (S Dakota State in?), Sun Belt (Louisiana in?).

some would say if you root for someone else to lose to benefit you then youve already lost

Well those people can get mumped during March Madness cause that is like one of the funnest things in the world to do.
-
it just feels good to have worked our way to the bubble, there’s a lot of coaches who would have thrown in the towel with this team but oscar stuck with it
if we play our cards right we may make the tournament. think about that for a second- one of the top 66 teams in the country. amazing to almost be among america’s elite
-
Pffttt. It's 68, dork.
-
hmm maybe i count differently than you #momath

And Louisville's loss was heartbreaking. Had 4 point lead with 6 seconds. Virginia hit 2 FTs with 2 seconds, Ville inbounds TO, Virginia for 3 at buzzer....bang!
-
The biggest bubble loss last night was probably NC State though.
-
Can’t imagine a worse KITN for a bubble team than that UVA finish.
-
saw that l'ville game. still seems impossible that they lost. they should review the tape - there must have been a mistake somewhere along the way.

Had this thought last night - did UVA plan the lane violation to bait the travel on the baseline? Or is that too deep?

The Ref usually tells the inbounds player that he can't move. I think the Ville player just didn't pay attention if the ref said it, or his instinct to run kicked in. Most of the time when you inbounds the ball 90 feet from your goal, you can run the baseline
The Ville also fouled on a 3pt shot up 4 with 2 seconds. That wasn't very bright either
-
the ref did tell the player, it was visible on replay.
-
Ouch.

I haven't really followed too closely this year, but I just read an article and we want the Cats to win and also Middle Tennessee State to win all their games and also Nebraska to lose (I'm not even sure about the bubble implications of that last one, but I'm pretty sure it's right because that one article I read described Nebraska's resume/record and it basically sounded exactly the same as ours).
-
Nebraska lost, they are NIT bound.
-
Was Penn St even close? 21 wins, beat tOSU last night, play Purdue in the semis tonight
-

Good grief the Big Ten is atrocious. Tied for 4th in the conference at 13-5 and headed to the NIT.

They are basically a good mid major conference this year. They look a lot more like the American this year or Missouri Valley back when Creighton and WSU were there. 4 teams in the RPI top 25 and the rest 65 or worse. Half the league (7 teams) at 100 or worse. It is crazy a Big 10 team could win 13 conference games and only 1 of those is over a NCAA tournament team.

According to Bracket Matrix, only one "bracketologist" has Penn St. even on the bubble right now. Interestingly, same bracket has KSU in the "next four out" line. I think it's just an algorithm. So short of winning the whole thing, I don't think Penn St. has a realistic shot.
