Title: Collector Cats, Thread of Collections
Post by: GregKSU1027 on January 25, 2018, 12:51:40 PM
I have recently been trying to get into Royals memorabilia collecting, I pulled an autographed Yordano Ventura baseball card out of a Topps 2015 Series two set and I think that is what started the craze. I am now going to try to collect complete Royals sets since I have the 1993 Royals 25th anniversary set that the KC star printed back in the day.

I also collect Official On Field Caps from Royals, Wichita Wranglers, and the BatCats.

I have a box of old foreign money that my grandparents hoarded over the years.  Some from countries no longer in existence, German coins with swastikas, Canadian paper bills (25 cents) from 1900. probably 60-70 different countries.

Father-in-Law gives us all kinds of silver state quarter editions that go into a box.  Probably 400 silver coins in all. (Literally have every state quarter in silver, from every mint, as well as all the other silly ones they print out)  Also have a box of silver and gold in safety deposit that gets additions every so often.

So, I guess I collect money?

I had a similar collection, and then it got stolen when I lived in my apartment. Lots of the coins and stuff were a collection from my grandpa who passed, it was a shitty day

Yup, same here (and with concert or other such tickets) I still kinda do it, but it's so much. It would be cool to turn it all into a collage or something.

Man, that sucks.  I know how I would feel.  The coins and bills mean much more to me because they were from my grandparents ' travels.  I put the bills in binder folders a few years ago because some are basically disintegrating.

at george's house in his office he has a framed replica of the bat hung up. the actual bat is in cooperstown. he also has this big wall of baseballs from the 3k hit club. a signed ball from every 3k hit person or whatever. he also has his three silver bats framed up from his batting titles. also about a billion other elite things just laying around or framed. also a full size urinal (floor up, not a stupid one) in his guest bath off the garage and cool monogramed Bs on the hand towels (of which I've stolen many).

Hey goEMAW collectors! I have recently come across Tyler lockett Autographed rookie cards. I didn't know if anyone would be interested as a fatty fest item for next year? If so I will donate to the auction.

May also be acquiring a Yordano Ventura game used memorabilia card that has a piece of the uniform from the 2015 season, both cards will be graded and verified by Beckett collectables so that way you guys know that they are truly authentic. If so they will be in the auction come next fall.

So the story goes when dad retired after 40 years of farming he told mom he needed a hobby.  Mom collects vinegar cruits,  sis collects pigs, wife s&p, and I collect toys.  So he decides he needs to collect something... and settles on barbed wire.   It made sense having ranched and strung miles of it in his life.

That first summer he goes to an estate sale with a large barbed wire collection, and proceeded to buy the entire thing.

Came home and told mom he needed a new hobby would she teach him how to bake pies.

Mom wanted it out of basement so now I am trying to find a home for it.

Pretty much. I don't want to push it. I've got a pretty good sitch at home. Don't want to mess it up. I literally just mow every once and a while and take out the trash and she does everything else. I mean, pick your battles, you know?
