Sorry Kam :frown:
-
This is a bad post and you're a bad poster for posting it, this is already being discussed in like five other threads.
-
Good god, stop! Lord knows we could use his depth right now. Get over this take.
-
This board is always slow to acknowledge truth.....
-
I'd say the bigger addition by subtraction was the ending of DJamer's eligibility
-
these takes are a little too hot, for a monday.
-
I’m on the fence, could _fan do one of his comparison thingys for the last 4 games vs before. What has changed if anything in the statistics?
-
I don't think Kam should start when he comes back. That's just my thing right now.

Greg’s track record has been pretty good so I’m leaning his way pending further analysis

every little bit helps.

Dean is definitely more effective at the four, but moving him to the five, Sneed to the Four, Kam to the three, Brown at the Two, and Diarra at the One definitely looks sexy on paper. But I don't think that is an effective solution long term / would probably lead to Dean having foul trouble. I think you do better rotating the guards based on match up where two of the three are on the court at all times.

most bigs at this level suck at scoring back to the basket. might be a problem against a team like Kansas but not much else.
Also, Wade and the TCU guy are the only players in the Big 12 in the top 10 in FTR that are over 6-7. Because bigs really aren't that good at drawing fouls.

First we can't do anything to mess up the chemistry between Wade and Brown.
Kam is a chucker, but last night when Diarra got into foul trouble I wished for bench quality.
I see Wainright subbing for Sneed when Deathbite returns.
You just as well count it a loss if Wade gets into early foul troubles like in the past. That is why I don't like it when he is the only big on the floor.
Steals and forced turnovers are offsetting our lack of rebounding.
My biggest fear still is running out of gas at the end of conference play. Bench has to play better.
And Big Meat subs have to quit playing like the 3 stooges.
Finally I wonder if our success is related to a simplier offense than Oscar's regular razzle-dazzle plan.
-
I can't dispute the Kam-less stats so far. (includes OSU, KU, OU, TCU, BU)

It's been talked about here about 3pt shooting being a lottery at times. FT shooting can be that way too. In the 5 games without Kam, our Opponents are 79-92 FT (86%) and we have allowed 1.08 PPP.
If those Opponents just shot 75%, which is still good (69-92), our Def. PPP would be 1.05
So overall, I've been pretty pleased with our Defensive effort. Keeping our Opp right in the 50-51% eFG, a FTR in low 30s (31-32%) and forcing a TO% in low 20s (20.5-22.0%) sure seems like a recipe for success.
The DR hasn't been good over that stretch. And the OR is also very poor. We are gonna lose this battle but 18% difference in OR is just flat awful.

Kam could have helped when everyone else was having an ice cold shooting night against a zone.
-
Just when I thought this thread was already lava hot with fresh takes, it turns out some people believe we could have benefited from another shooter in our 56 point performance.

We need another legit option. Barry had his worst game of the year. 0.60 efficiency with the most usage on the team (29.5% possessions). We went on our little run because Barry was playing the best basketball of his career along with Wade. Both looked like all league players. Barry wasn't good last night and wasn't much better vs Georgia and Wade simply isn't good enough to carry this team without some help. The others (Sneed, Diarra, Mawien) did nothing to help offset that.

Fatigue a factor?

Fatigue a factor?
Maybe, but it should be for them too. But yeah, Barry is probably gassed, he really struggled the last two games.
-
Still don’t love our chances, but I do like that the WVU game sets up with our guys getting some extra rest and WVU flying back from Ames late Wednesday night.
-
Barry should've taken a nap yesterday instead of handing out box lunches in the cold. Doesn't KSU have a hyperbaric chamber in any of their fancy new facilities?
