Wade is a stud.
Kam is a stud.
Barry is good.
Sneed is good.
Wainright is good.
Mawein.... fouls a lot.

BTW, this team has 4 games at 1.3 points per possession or better this year. No K-State team has had more than 3 games that efficient in any single season for the last 16 years.
-
Barry off the bounce = stud
I'm not sure mawein actually committed a real foul, maybe the lsst one.
-
i believe kam had 21 at the break and finished with 23, i didnt pay that close attention in the second half but they must have adjusted to not give him very many good looks. Also our minutes are hilarious, we effectively played 6 guys.

Yeah.
And the Diarra, Brown, Stokes, Patrick/Wainright, Wade line up was pretty great.
-
Brown is amazing at attacking the rim.
-
let’s hope that mose can shoot at an 81% clip all season
-
1) Iowa St started 14-18 FG (4-6 3pt). And led 39-33.
From then on they were 9-33 FG (0-9 3pt).
2) From that 39-33 deficit, Cats scored 58 in final 41 Possessions for the 91-75 win.
-
They're so sad! :frown:
-
I was at a party, and didn't even get to listen. Checked the score at halftime. Just checked the final and box score. ASU Cats showed up.
Claws has arrived. I am most impressed with all of the non scoring stats, especially keeping fouls dowm. How did the bigs do playing when Mawien got in foul.problems. The box score shows Stockard did some work. And Love?
-
Did not watch, drywalling our addition. I HATE DRYWALL!.
What was the main factor for ISU going from shooting great to "are they shooting blind-folded?"
-

I didn't see much of an adjustment from Iowa State. Killa Kam missed his first couple of shots so he didn't take too many more, they were closing hard so he was able to dribble around the defenders and create for others. The foul trouble didn't help either.
-
i feel like our starters can beat anybody. how should we feel about the bench?
i hope this is the game where d-wade realizes that he's bigger than most people and is better at basketball than most people. he should be averaging at least 18/9 a game. also kam's spazzy style is fun to watch now that he's really good.
-
Our bench really sucks
But a nice win! Go Claws!

Not a bad thread name was really hoping for something more like wadeing through the water

Fan when was the last time anyone scored 30+? Seems like a long time.

The announcers said the last time we had 3 players with 20+ was with Pullen, Clemente, and Kelly(??) In 2011.

You either don't know who Curtis Kelly was or were surprised he scored twenty points in a game? C'mon, man.
-
Also I'm pretty sure Marcus Foster scoring 34 as a freshman was the last time someone scored 30.

That's probably right. 2014 against UT. Maybe Wade will go into the truly rarified air of the 40's club.

I couldn't remember if it was Kelly or someone else. Just remember it was Pullen and Clemente and someone else.

Ah that makes sense.
-
Den Clem did not play for the ksu cats in 2011.
-
It was DeCle, but it was 2010
-
When was last time someone scored 30+, and had 8 rebounds.
When was the last time we saw 2 20+ scores to boot in the same game.
And on the road.
-
Last time we had 3, 20+ scorers was THE Xavier game
-
Dang we scored 91, and only 4 came from the bench
-
This was a good win for the Cats. The criticism of our bench in a 91 point game is ridiculous. That’s like saying, “yeah, he threw for 5 TDS, but our backup QB didn’t do crap!”
-
Similar analogy: “Yeah it’s great he pitched a 1 hit complete game, but I can you believe our closer didn’t throw a single strike?”
-
we don't have a bench, you can't criticize something that doesn't exist.
-

Yeah except the bench played 66 minutes. Playing that much I an average paced game and scoring only 4 points is pretty remarkable when you consider how efficient the offense was. It's almost like you'd have to make an effort to not score in that many minutes.
Also your analogies are incredibly stupid and our weak bench will cost us games this year, even if it didn't yesterday.
-
I'm just saying it's crazy weird.
For example, other scores this weekend (bench points in parentheses):
WVU 85 (28)
OSU 77 (16)
TTU 77 (42)
KU 92 (13)
UT 86 (17)
OU 90 (30)
TCU 89 (34)

Our win was awesome and fun, but don't those parentheticals just prove that our bench was trash compared to every other team?
-
i did the math and according to my calculations the bench averages 17 points a game which isn't far off that list. scoring points is just one thing though, if they can dominate the play-hard chart that'd be great.

What about it says our bench is weak? You’d be melting down just as hard if we stopped feeding guys who were making a high % of shots. Again, we’re not talking about a game we won because of amazing defense or a lucky day against ISU. We scored 90+ points.
Why is it all of the sudden bad coaching to say, these dudes are doing a great job offensively, let’s keep going back to them.
How about this analogy: pretty great that Jordy Nelson caught 5 TDs for 200 yards, but sucks our other WRs only caught 3 passes. That sure shows we are in trouble.

It's the WHO WILL _______ WHEN THE SENIORS GRADUATE!?!? time of year again.

I like that catastrophe is doubling down on his analogies. Can't wait to see if he pulls out a soccer analogy next.

I’m not super proud of them tbh.

Well I apparently so since I don’t give a crap how many points Joe Walkon scores when we put up 90. Guess I’m just the resident idiot of the South Carolina Gamecocks board. Maybe Brown should have been passing it more instead of driving into wide open lanes?
-
we'll be fine with the bench as long as nobody gets injured. even if we had an above average bench, if one of the stud 4 goes down, we're probably just as screwed at getting a deep run.
-

The shitty bench makes the big four more likely to get injured
-
Meh. Depth for us in basketball is probably similar to football. We need our main guys to stay healthy. I don't worry about guys getting "tired" either.
-
i fully expect for us to shoot 55% this season which is exactly why I think this team is good
-
all the reaching to hate on this team is getting boring
-

seems incredibly unlikely to have all four guys be healthy the whole year, but i will give you that if they somehow do manage to avoid missing any time with one of the 4 guys to injury this team can be good.

How many teams can lose one of their top 2-4 players for a long time and be good? Maybe 1 or 2 in our league? If OU lost Young they would be done.
-
lol you mean the poy young? ya that might make a mark if he were to go down
-

Nice indirect Mark Young reference...
-
There is a reason the committee explicitly considers injuries to key players during the season.
-
this isn't football you idiots, injuries don't happen that much.

lol wut

Do you watch basketball? Since I'm guessing it only extends to K-State games, think of the best 20 K-State players of the last decade, how many of them missed extended time with an injury? I got Bill Walker, anyone else?
-
DJamer missed an entire year
-
lol wut

Deathbite missed significant time as a freshman. Wade definitely had minutes reduced because of a foot injury last season. (Not sure if they are top twenty players, but this seems relevant).

Wade probably is, not sure about Killa Kam and DJamer as much as I love them. Anyway, it's a lot less likely that any of those dudes would get injured than it actually happening which was fan's point. I feel like I've been reading his point about depth every year for a decade, changed my mind about it a while ago.
-
Sure, injuries are a risk, but depth in basketball is overrated. I wish we would have a big or two give us some capable minutes now and then, but I don't worry about the core 4 getting "tired" as the season goes along. I think Wainright and Diarra are solid, we just need Mawein and one other guy to show that they can play a little bit.

There's also foul trouble
-
We got 66 minutes from our bench in a blowout win at Hilton. I'd say our bench is deep and fabulous.

That's a fair point.

You want to look at a crap shallow bench, look at ku.

I think Mawien has shown he can play a little. Will the refs let him play a little? Will we get the same calls against Konate pushing to establishh position that Mawien got against ISU.
-
injuries are such a small part of college basketball you might as well just bitch about the refs like a normal person.
-
The atrocity that is cbb officiating is infinitely more impactful on the outcome of games than injuries

No one is bitching about injuries but don't let that stop you from continuing to rack up a long streak of shitty posts

Stokes, no idea how bad.

I will go on record that I don't think Stokes' high minutes contributed to an injury this early in the season.

lol yeah. just cross post this to oscar-cuses thread.

I think yourself, _FAN, and I understood the point that was actually being made but it devolved into basketball players don't get hurt at all.
