Title: Pursuits: Long Term/Short Term
Post by: SdK on September 23, 2017, 11:28:12 AM
I'm in the process of teaching myself piano. I get some guidance from Canary. For the most part I practice alone on his piano.

I'm learning Clair de Lune one measure at a time. I hope to be able to play it by the time I'm 50.

What are some of your long term personal goals?

I've dabbled in guitar for years and always thought I'd learn music better on a piano. I'm finally getting around to it. Learning to read music as well.

Do you know many Spanish speaking folks? If you ever decide to learn French, I know a gal! She's also super tall!

I'm trying to learn Python.

May I ask why?

So I can write scripts to pre and post-process data that is used in engineering programs such as CFD, loads, and FEM analysis.

But mostly just because I think some coding knowledge would help me in the future.

Is that your first programming language?  If so that’s a good choice, it’s very powerful but also very versatile and the syntax is easy to learn.  If you ever need any help let me know

50 by 50. I want to push myself to a 50 mile ultra 6 hour finish during my 50th year on Earth. Been having some calf issues though. Going to be a challenge for sure.
