there are tons of ways to enjoy a little CotC.
you can boil them or you can grill them, wow. i think i'm just going to boil them tonight but also i will probably grill some this wekeend, that way i can compare & contrast the peggy po'boys and nancy nectarines

We've been doing this every Sunday on the grill. Along with steak, baked potato, and asparagus. There's a really good crop this year. Can confirm.
-
Q: Does CF3 like those CotC holders with the pokey things that stick in the cob?
A: Yes. Great way to keep your fingers clean and still enjoy CotC
-
My grandpa use to cut the corn off the cob because it would always get in his teeth.
-
Aw shucks. I was planning on making this thread this weekend.
-
Great thread
-
Favorite way to do CotC is on the grill, wrapped with foil.
-
What's the best main course for a dinner where CotC is served? I say your classic USA July 4 Brats 'N Burgs
-
That was a pretty good corn joke SdK.
Anyway CotC is a great grill item. Sometimes I'll leave them in the husk to steam but my preferred method is to be fully aww shucked so they can feel the full wrath of the coals and get some good grill marks.
-
It's called an "Ear" of corn
-

I will do this some times. Also, I always make a ton of CotC, and cut the extras or what's left... usually #ack the crap out of the next meal or a meal a few days later with the leftovers mixed w/ green beans as a side.
-
do you even know what the otC in CotC stands for?
-
It's called an "Ear" of corn
I mean what's next, a nose of beans?
-
i slather the ear with delicious mayonnaise and then sprinkle shredded parmesan cheese on it. next, i wrap it in aluminum foil and then grill it. MUY DELCISIOASO!!
-

Crawfish (in a boil with the CotC)
-
EmoLite loves this. Gets pretty pissed waiting for it to cool down tho. Those are tense moments. Like the Cuban Missile Crisis I imagine.

I always think those are weird. There's always way too much corn/potatoes and you are supposed to use newspaper for a plate? Pass.

Not the way I make it. My seafood to filler ('tatoes & CotC) ratio is heavily slated towards the seafood.

weird take from normally strong CotC'r CF3 here
-
also related to a crawfish or shrimp boil, and to CotC, i like to sprinkle a little cajun seasoning on my CotC, but i have a pretty spicy personality

wow!
i mean i think i'll just stick with butter and s&p, but still, wow!

Will try. Maybe even tonight. Sounds delicious.

Why would you ruin cotc with mayo? Smdh
-
Why would you ruin cotc with mayo? Smdh
all that mayo is, is emulsified oil + a little lemon juice + egg
it takes the place of the butter which is PITA to put on
-
You just open one end of a stick of butter and go to town

a wonderful little cotc protip for my goEMAW friends - you can just microwave those sonsofbitches (husk on) and it tastes just like they've been boiled and also the little strings come off pretty easy.
-
Why would your microwave or boil when you can grill?

Have you guys heard of this method to make a large batch of CotC?
1. Get a big cooler
2. Put (raw) CotC in (empty) cooler
3. Fill cooler with boiling water.
4. Close the cooler lid
5. Let it sit for about 20(?) minutes.
6. Enjoy
-
i coordinate this with refrigerator cleaning and just use the chili drawer
-
I've never needed an entire cooler full of CotC but that is good to know

How do you boil the 30 gallons of water?
-
31 gallon pot obvs
-
why don't you just put all the corn in the 31 gallon pot
-
why don't you just put all the corn in the 31 gallon pot
Because the corn would displace the water (obviously).
Which PE exam did you pass allegedly?

i didn't say the 31 gallon pot was filled to the brim with water you silly obtuse goose
-
Well puni's recipie clearly calls for 30 gallons of water at 212 deg F. Maybe you were thinking you could get half the volume of water to like 424 deg F to make up?
Had to be the HVAC PE I'm guessing.

You should try to participate in enginerd humor instead of getting defensive. If you're incapable just ignore.

Hilarious.

was a serious Q
-
So my coworker specs a #4 bar @ 12" oc, but then I pointed out a #5 @ 16" oc would be less labor for the contractor and we all had a big laugh

i'd be concerned with the aforementioned water displacement

Someone quick patent a displaceless sous vide, market it as the Eureka.

CotC is pretty good.
But part of me still hates it after picking it in high school. 150-200 dozen ears per day for like 2 weeks in July.
